      It needs to be priced less than the next Razr to be even worth considering, which I doubt.

        There is a reason why Razr 40 and older are out of stock while Flip 5 and older are still around. Razr 50 keeps going out of stock for days and weeks. Moto is selling more Razr 50 than they can make.

The 7 million units you quoted are for Samsung Flip and fold. Do your math before pointing fingers. Barely 3-4 million flips, expected sale of foldables is 25 million for 2024. Keep in minding market penetration of Moto, its not there in all markets as samsung. Step out of your bias to read real numbers. Moto 50 will not hit 20 mill even if its selling x5 times as much as z flip

              PepperPot, 04 Nov 20245 times more? It doesn't even sell 1 times more. Stop... more That 6 mill. annual sales stat of z flip 6 which you shared is disinfo. There is no stat for z flip 6 annual units sold. That number is for Flip series of phones.
              Flip 6 sells barely 100 units/ week, Razr 50 is beyond 500/week.....real numbers that can be checked at any online retailer. Glad that you admit my numbers are correct for quarterly figures.

                Given Samsung's recent pricing patterns, expect this to cost more than the S25. It really wouldn't work for me at that price.

                  Anonymous, 04 Nov 2024Razr 50/2024 sells 5 times more units than Flip 6. Its abou... more5 times more? It doesn't even sell 1 times more. Stop referencing quartelry, monthly and hourly sales. Samsung sells around 6-7 million flips annualy. Your math means Moto sold 30 million razr's. The total sales of all foldables(book and flip) have not broken 16 million annually.

                  I hope you are not an accountant.

                        Given that the Z Flip 6 starts at $1099 MSRP (right between the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max), I'd expect to see a ~$800 MSRP for a Flip FE to compete with the base model iPhones in price. I imagine the price cut would probably come from an older screen, and probably also a processor downgrade (and 95% of consumers would not be able to tell the difference). Samsung is really trying to grab as much of the foldable market as possible before Apple has the "courage" to "invent" a folding phone or tablet, and this will help them convert new slices of the market.

                          Razr 50/2024 sells 5 times more units than Flip 6. Its about time they released a cheaper flip like razr 50.

                            The problem with this, is that the current Z Flip6 is like an FE phone anyway. I love the strategy of launching a cheaper flip-style foldable alongside a flagship one, but let's face it — the Z Flip6 is not premium, and not worth the price tag. If the Z Flip7 had:

                            •Better cameras — 50MP GNJ main + 50MP IMX858 ultrawide with macro + 50MP JN5 3× periscope with macro;
                            •Better screens — LTPO on both + higher brightness (doesn't have to be crazy high on both, but should be similar and at least crazy high on inner display) + thinner bezels on both (outer screen's bezels as thin as S24 series, inner slightly thicker) + higher resolution on outer screen + Gorilla Glass Armour on outer screen;
                            •Better form factor — make the inner display 20:9/20.5:9;

                            Then I would say a Z Flip7 would stand out, and make the Z Flip7 FE viable as a cheaper alternative too. You can't expect to sell cheaper variants of your flagships if your flagships are uncompetitive in the first place, because you'd have to artificially downgrade your cheaper variants way too much to make them different enough.

                            The Z Flip 7 FE would have the current Z Flip6's hardware, but with some downgrades in critical areas (thicker bezels, lower brightness, different screen that is smaller, Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, worse processor, smaller and slower storage, less RAM, no fingerprint sensor, thicker build).

                              Finally, Z Fold7 Ultra with "powerful camera experience" as mentioned in Samsung concall

                                tsukimi, 04 Nov 2024I think what many people want is a cheap fold style, not a ... moreMore than twice as many Flips are sold compared to Folds. It isn't the price creating that difference. The Flip models are extremely expensive phones. Fold models are just too big. The compact convenience of the Flip form factor is easy to understand and appreciate. Put it in a pocket once and you'll never go back. Furthermore, people don't use tablets on a daily basis. Every time I want to use my Surface I have to start by finding the charger. :)

                                      I think what many people want is a cheap fold style, not a cheap flip style.

                                        I hope they will keep ultrawide camera..this device should be a driver competitor to Razr 2024..The same battery capacity as Z Flip 7 and must havea t least 25W adapter (its 2024!)

                                        I dont mind build material and 2-3 years old processor..just make that device 300$ cheaper than z flip and as the prices start to go down, more people will afford to buy. Eg: Razr 2024 retailed for 799 and now sells for 449:))
