Details on Huawei Mate 70's chipset, Kirin 9100, revealed

06 November 2024
The Kirin 9000S that was used in the Pura 70 phones used HiSilicon designed CPU and GPU. However, the 9100 is going back to ARM, at least partially.

is a pity, 06 Nov 2024Thank you, Trump, for ending free competition and innovatio... moreBiden could have retracted It but didn't, instead continued with other sanctions against Chinese companies like not being able to buy TSMC machines etc.
There is no difference If there is a democrat or republican at the helm, they still think they have the right to rule the world.

Even if it's slower and not cutting-edge, don't forget this chipset was fully made by only ONE country! Snapdragon, Exynos and Mediatek are made with technologies produced by several nations.. that alone makes this chipset impressive.

One country competing with the world!

Remember that said benchmark is totally not identifying any Huawei's cores... time to wait until the release and how Geekerwan says.

It's not Kirin 9100. It's Kirin 1020 from 2020. This news is based on some fake Tweet some guy posted.

Mate 70 Ultra will be inferior compared to Mi 12s ultra, X6 Ultra, X90 Pro+.
Still gonna be easily more than 9300 yuans .

I wonder if Huawei might go RISC-V at some point to avoid ARM constraints via the US ban. They've built upon Android for so long their HarmonyOS has very little in common with Android anymore and doing the same on chipset end might just be the way for them.

Not bad but it the kirin 9100 will be comparable against the snapdragon 7+ gen or 8s gen 3 and the tensor G3 or G4

its seems huawei processor is getting better than last year.

This is better soc than Tensor G4, with same antutu score and better thermal management. If Google can put tht stove in 1000€ phone, then Huawei which is far better smartphone producer also can.

Replacing A510 cores with A55 and using the A78 for performance cores? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Like I get Huawei has very little choice, but it's nonetheless so hilarious to see how this is supposed to be a flagship SoC in 2024. I don't even know if the A78 cores will beat the Taishan Mid cores, even if they are clocked higher. Cortex-X1 is a good advancement though.

Nice! 7/8 cores get a big clock boost. If the old chip matched an sd8g1 maybe this can approach sd8g2. Let's see.

It's cool that SMIC is going 6nm. I hope it's a new node meaning the 7nm node gets freed up for less expensive chips and higher yields.

hope Huawei can continue their momentum with these chips and get to a better node or something, they desperately need a better chip to justify their high prices worldwide.

Fanboys were 2000% sure the previous had A520 cores + " custom core".

Guy that last year said K9000s was the K9000 , also said you can with software change name of cores , so HW info apps will recognise what they want them to read.

Anyway, impossible for chip with these cores to match 8g2 when this SoC has weak setup compared to 888.

And with Trump returning to the White House, I totally doubt Huawei and HiSilicon would even have permission to access Arm's latest architecture (unless Trump changes his mind about the US-China trade sanction).
