The iPhone 5S had to have about a 900x1600 resolution or they are a fail. I have several reasons behind this.
1: they have been left in the dust and they need to play catch up.
2: there are rumors that the new display will feature twice as many pixels. Do the math.
3: it will leave them with a 4" ppi of around 460ppi,right in line with competitors.
4: they have to keep some distance between 5S and 5C.

Stupid apple you are going to be doomed soon. Nowadays people are going at bigger screen 6 inch full hd 449 ppi. If you are continuing with this small low spec display samsung,nokia,asus,sony,htc etc are going to take some of your market away
