First smartphone I had was Galaxy 5. After 2, 3 years I got S3, and it was freaking awesome, and market share showed that - it beat iPhone. It seemingly had everything, and while I kept it a lot longer than I should've, I did watch every new S model as they improved and added features. Culmination was S10+, the most feature rich samsung ever.

Since the S10+, every new S model lost features and became more and more expensive, while the market share continued dropping.

I'm not sure why Samsung became like that, was it simple corporate greed or lack of focus coupled with wrong visio... Anyhow, right now even having galaxy watch couldnt make me take S phone. What a Shane.

I'm not surprised to be honest. Whoever wants an expensive phone usually gets an iPhone. Not that they are best (IMHO they are hardly smartphones, but rather feature phones). Samsung's pricing is terrible. Maybe acceptable for cheaper devices here and there, but S series i totally off track. Price/performance ratio isn't good at all

Can read any iphone news without seeing droids seething for absolutely no reason at all, like it's their personal mission to 💩 on Apple.

It's the end of the Q3 release phone brand once a year release so no wonder it was sold most in Q3

I'm not an apple person. It doesn't bother me. I'm not sure why this keeps you guys up at night . . . every year.

the most overrated tech ever. Apple made the magic to transform serious informatics and telephony is silly fashion things for the conformist masses

Lol over 70% android users actually..I rarely see someone use iphone except some teenagers and girls...

Better sales or not, it doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of people have Android (depending on the smartphone manufacturer)

And Samsung want to remove vanilla S from lineup. Shouting in their own leg

[deleted post]Not at all. Plenty of people don't care. I set my Android to 60hz anyway even though it supports up to 120hz as the battery life is a bit better. A lot of people just want an iPhone but don't care about having the greatest hardware specs. It says nothing about their intelligence. For many the phone is just a tool to browse, communicate and take a few photos of family and friends.

"Samsung's Galaxy S24 is the first Galaxy S series phone to get a spot in the top 10 in Q3 since 2018."

Maybe Samsung should take notes and bring back a simple lineup: small and big phone with same specs and little price difference, like they did with the S7/S8/S9.

The Note lineup was their premium no-compromises model but they rarely sold as much as the S series.

[deleted post]120hz should be the minimum. Even pro variants use up to 80hz and rarely 120hz.

I assume the A55 is not there on the Q3 2024 list unlike the A54 which is on the Q3 2023 list as it didn't reach the US, which could also be why the S24 is there - that was a smart move by Samsung even if it wasn't great for us consumers.
