People need to understand that for longer zoom, inevitably the sensor size will have to shrink so it doesn't become a 30mm brick. Plus that with traditional periscope methods you can't push over 100mm equivalent with 1/1.4" sensors like the ISOCELL HP9 in the coming Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Though, Oppo's TriplePrism approach to the medium telephoto (LYT600) is actually really interesting, as it can save up on space, even with large sensors. Hope they implement it for the dual periscopes of the X8 Ultra.

The bigger the sensor, the bigger the zoom lens need to be, and there is only so much space in an 8mm thick device...
Other stacked sensor technology and AI also reduces the need for a large sensor.

Might be worth mentioning the Oppo Find X6 Pro also had a bigger 1 inch main sensor, from two years ago. Pretty clear the X8 Pro gets a downgrade to upsell the Ultra.

Heard from another reviewer that this comes with 5 years of android updates and 6 years security? Is that correct?

Can't wait for my Oppo 5 to stop receiving updates and die in 18 months or so, and start agonising about whether to get an Oppo X10 pro or a foldable N7

The bezels are super pleasant to look at. The Find X8 has essentially the same sized bezels as the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max and the X8 Pro is slightly thicker, Vincent Zhong did a comparison in his vid and honestly, these look awesome.
I just wonder how the comfort will be compared to a curved back phone. I've held flat backed iPhones and did NOT like em at all. Flat back phones work well only if they're compact.

I personally like the overall design, but there is certainly an iPhonish looks here, and in software too. Vivo had always been nicely designed, with rather comfortable software designs, no need to copy here.
D9400 is a big + to me.
