YT is trying hard adding "new features" nobody want to make us forget that they can't find a solution for the issue where the app cannot remember my preference for video resolution & captions etc, even on the same session on the same device.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2024that last sentence of the articleyup, completely true. Youtube doesn't care about what its users think as long as the feature could make them more money and/or provide easier clicks to more videos/ads

I've been suffering with this "feature" for a few days now, thought it was a permanent change everyone got. My issue is that, when I tap and hold to speed up the video, when I let go, the app is so sensitive that sometimes it registers me letting go as a swipe. It was manageable when the gesture action changed fullscreen status, but now it's infuriating when it changes videos entirely.

They have been trying to make it more and more like TikTok, introducing Shorts etc. It’s UI is a complete disaster these days and ‘enhanced bitrate’ video for a price is the lowest thing I’ve ever seen anyone do!

This is just straight up regarded, like someone in a management position needs to do something just so they can said that they did something and prove that they're not useless
