If you are going to buy something in your life, dont buy the most expensive thing, but dont go for the most cheap either.

A lot of people that I know that save "money" buying cheap crap from Temu/Shein, end up wasting those savings in dumb stuff. And on top of that, the cheap crap they bought is harmful to their health or doesnt last that long.

It seems people are into some crazy consumption frenzy and they dont try to think anymore.

So just temu with extra steps

atichko, 14 Nov 2024Your logic isn't complete either. Demand is something ... moreSales and marketing can enhance demand but the underlying demand for cheap stuff is clearly inherent.

You just can't seem accept it for some reason otherwise you wouldn't be be claiming marketing is the main driver of demand.

You clearly need cheap crap as they keep selling well and make more. The news about Amazon's launch of a discount retailer shows that.

I buy on Amazon if I want serious things, on Temu if I want something for occasional use

Demand is something that is created through sales and marketing strategies. In short, people are conditioned to think they need this stuff while in fact it rarely is.

I bought some tablet holder/stand from Temu. And surprisingly, it was well built and good quality.
True, I didn't bought the cheapest one in there, some middle priced one (around 26EUR).
But for that price I got metallic pipes and sturdy metallic stand. Plus really nice joints with Ikea style screws (without needed any screwdriver). 2 metallic pipes with joints in the middle (similar with robotic arms).
To tell the truth, I wasn't expecting this good quality. It was exactly like the photos from Temu.

Plus, it came really fast (with Packeta). They said 2-3 weeks delivery time, but it came after 8 calendar days. And I could choose where to have the delivery. Like any normal online purchasing.

Amazing Amazon! you invented chinese internet store that sell stuff that break after delivery! wow!

The person is right - we don't need more cheap 1€ crap. And that is exactly what Amazon is flooding us with since 2-3 years and now plans to increase the garbage spam. If they would import quality/useful stuff noone would object

Amazon is already flooded with Chinese junk to a point you can't even find brand names anymore on it, it's like AliExpress, but somehow worse. I gave up buying on Amazon years ago and it used to be a go to place for brand names. Now I'm not buying on it out of protest because of Bezos and how shady entire company is.

This is fun. Let's see all those psychos claiming they would cancel Amazon running back to get the cheap stuff.

Bruh y'know how useful this would've been internationally 🫠

Amazon try not to be evil challenge (impossible)

But seriously, as a Temu/Shein hater who wishes fast fashion would disappear into the void along with those who profit from it, this is horrible for literally everyone involved. Consumers get low quality goods, the people (probably children) who make them barely get paid anything, and even if you don’t buy from Amazon Haul, you still have to deal with the climate impacts of overconsumption and the corporations who profit from it. I know this site loves to call cheap tech ewaste (I do it too), but this is literally the definition of ewaste. If Xiaomi is the Zara of tech, then Amazon is Shein.
