> We presume that just like most existing temporary email services out there, Google will only allow incoming email into the temporary email and not outgoing mail since that would open the door to more nefarious and annoying use cases for the service.
iCloud Private Relay email addresses allows both incoming and outgoing mail.
The reason why outgoing mail is allowed is because some websites requires you to respond to their email to confirm account deletion or whatever.

Most certainly DO NOT do it for free. Just finding a free email provider is hard enough, because they sure aren't as many anymore at all as back in the day. And those few "free" email providers sure as hell prefer to monetize "premium" features like "alias" or "temporary" addresses rather than just handing them out for free.

Sounds a lot like the “Hide My Email” iCloud+ feature that Apple has across devices.
Would be great if Google creates it similarly to Apple and has the option like “Sign in with Apple ID” that then asks you to Hide My Email.

They're doing all these, while selling our personal data and interests for marketing. Ironic indeed.
