I think Samsung did something internally. Their 25W Super Fast charging, doesn't charge as quick now. Weird.

TrainingAddict, 3 hours agoThank you for the detailed explanation.
What you described... moreYou are welcome. I've owned quite a few Samsung's in the past, they are good phones overall, but I hate OneUI and all the Samsung bloatware inside. And they tend to "get you" with software updates and things like this article. The small things they hope you miss on. I hate that, I find it disrespectful and S23 was my last Samsung. Good riddance.
This new 45W charging, while good in theory, comes with caveats that most people will miss and only understand when they get their new phone and start looking for a charger for it. That's borderline scam. If the phone already can handle 4.5A of current, there is no reason it cannot do 20V/4.5A, which is 90W (!). But there is not way in hell Samsung will give you 90W charging before year 2050 so instead they do this. Gotta milk them all.

Let's give a slow clap to Samsung for going higher & better.
I'm still surprised that they are very unwilling to try out 60W+ charging on certain devices just to create proper variety. They've long lasted under 30W which is painfully slow by today's standards. The benefits of fast charging (to a point) almost always outvalue the cons of faster battery degradation.

CoinSide, 4 hours agoWhen you buy a 45 watt charger, it comes with a cable that ... morePoint is, most chargers avoid going above 3A, because it means more heat, which means better components, which means more $$$. Most 45W chargers do 45W at like 20V/2.25A and most 65W ones go 20A/3A. Nobody does 45W at 9V or 10V, except the most expensive ones that are usually rated for 100W or more.
Which means most people will have to throw away their current chargers, even if they are 45W ones and get a new more expensive one, if they want to charge their new Samsung at 45W.
With this charging spec Samsung basically says 25W for the everyone (9V/2.7 is basically on any charger) and 45W if you buy a 60€+ charger. And even then there is no guarantee that it will work, because Samsung's PPS is not standard AFAIK.
