DeepIn2U, 22 Nov 2024Flagship level lol, the 9400 is only flagship level in its ... more9400 is literally better than elite watch gaming test on youtube if you won't believe me.

Potato, 22 Nov 2024Everyone kept saying its overpriced for not having a Snapdr... moreFlagship level lol, the 9400 is only flagship level in its own mind. The drop in performance compared to the leader is significant - and that's not including the gaming phones!

There is also patents that the 9400/MediaTek do not have so it hampers the devices capabilities internationally!

No it is NOT flagship! No we will NOT recognize it. You're cheering for the underdog far too early to place a valid/winning bet!

And here you're complaining about lack of SD card?!
SDXC = 300MB/s R & 260MB/s W using the Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC using UHS-III (bus speeds is 312MB/s but the entire bus speed is NOT the throughput speed!!
    https://wavelength.focuscamera.com/a-guide-to-sd-card-speed-other-specs/

Both Samsung and Micron's USF 4.0 offers:
    Samsung: https://semiconductor.samsung.com/estorage/ufs/ufs-4-0/
    write speeds of 2,800MBps
    read speeds of 4,200MBps
    Micron: https://www.micron.com/about/blog/company/innovations/micron-delivers-worlds-fastest-ufs-4-0-for-flagship-smartphones
4300 megabytes per second (MBps) sequential read, and,
    4000 MBps sequential write speed!
    These are INTERNAL storage speeds.

Samsung's S24 & Oppo's X8/X8 Pro BOTH offer USB Type-C 3.2 which the USB 3.2 spec for hosts and devices, allowing for up to two lanes of 10Gbps operation to realize a 20Gbps data transfer rate, without sacrificing cable length.

    Math: 20Gbps = 2500 MB/s!
using an external USB-C 3.2 compatible drive is a LOT faster than ANY MicroSD card slot could EVER offer!!

MicroSD on phones is DEAD! Any phone that has it is simply hampering your ability to use that port. Phone's that have it is SIMPLY for convenience if you're a photographer that frequently uses a camera that has it. Man even imaging a laptop that has that or using a USB adapter is SLOW as hell !! I know because I had used it on my former Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga GEN4

Paint an "L" on your forehead please! This is why I tagged your comment with a :clown: face. in a party hat. Seems you don't know what you're talking about in terms of use case, performance. I suggest you migrate your MicroSD data to much more affordable USB-C sticks or consolidate into a much faster T5/T7/T9 drives from Samsung which are on sale today for Black Friday sales!

dbizzle, 22 Nov 2024I know the 1049 pounds in the UK seems high, but remember t... moreIt does not come with a charger in the box, it comes with a USB-C cable.

You need to buy the charger separately costing between £30-40.

You could probably sell the watch on eBay for £200 (let's say £180 profit), meaning the "actual" device cost is nearer £899 once you buy the (slower) 45w charger.

I'm waiting until Jan to see what else is being released, and also looking out for Oppo discount codes where 10% off with the watch - for selling on eBay - makes it a reasonable price (£791).

I believe the X8/Pro will be it and depending on how many units sell depends on whether the X9 Ultra launches globally end of next year.

Everyone kept saying its overpriced for not having a Snapdragon chip like hello is Snapdragon the only chip you choose to recognize? That chip from mediatek is flagship level, the only thing I dont like is that it doesn't come with an sd card expansion. You are oaying for a durable phone that had a less chance of getting green lines cus its from oppo.

mr stoosh, 22 Nov 2024Unfortunately it doesn't come with a charger and case.... moreNot sure about the UK but I think all phones in the EU can't come with a charger in the box anymore due to some environmental regulations. At least I read that somewhere

dbizzle, 22 Nov 2024I know the 1049 pounds in the UK seems high, but remember t... moreUnfortunately it doesn't come with a charger and case. I spoke to a customer service representative at UK Oppo and they confirmed this

Secondly all you get is a watch and not free earbuds if you buy through Oppo itself which I'm assuming is what you intend to do if you're referring to the £10 discount.

You're better off sourcing a Global version as at least you get a charger and case in the retail unit.

Rip off Britain strikes again ..

As Flossy would say the price is "Too Goddamn High" here in Europe.

You don't even get a charging brick or case in the retail version in the UK and Europe. This was confirmed by Oppo UK customer services.

You're better off buying the Global version it's cheaper and you get all the essentials with it.

It's too expensive to not have a 1" sensor, a Snapdragon 8 Elite and only capable of gaming at 60 fps. It's just not a flagship device, yet it is asking for flagship money. Let's hope the Ultra also comes to Europe, though I fear how much it is going to cost.

                    Overprice.

I know the 1049 pounds in the UK seems high, but remember that's for 512GB and comes with a free watch (and buds plus 10 GBP discount if you pre registered), comes with a charger and case in the box! Plus trade in deals etc.

Compare to s24+ (which this phone stomps) at 1099 for 512GB and no case no charger and i think buds at launch? I can't remember exactly...

I think overall it's a pretty "fair" price, OBVIOUSLY I wish it was like 600 lol but we have to be realistic, inflation and the cost of everything has just gone bananas.

Really hope it does well, we need more competition in the space

rizki1, 21 Nov 2024maybe, Xiaomi 14 here is $750.The Xiaomi 15 would make more sense then in Indonesia if they match the pricing of the Xiaomi 14. I think in Europe the Xiaomi 15 will likely be a bit more expensive than the find x8

Oppo see opportunity to sold their flagship in Indonesia because the government band iphone 16 . But really oppo, your price too expensive, people will go for iphone 15 or Samsung flagship.

£1049 for a phone in the UK without a Snapdragon chip does seem excessive, even with a free watch included. A price point of £799 would have been much more acceptable.

I keep a list with candidates for my next premium smartphone.
OnePlus 13 is currently highest competitor.
I stroke out Oppo with the remark "highly overprized".
