DeepIn2U, 22 Nov 2024Can someone PLEASE explain to me why these chinese manufact... moreAfter a litlle research, best answers I could find is that in some cases dual ratings can indicate that the device has passed 1 test and not the following but did pass the next one, example IP55/IP57 would indicate the device failed IPX6 test. In case of IP68/69 the rating indicates that the device can survive both water submersion upto 3 ft or a bit more and the 69 indicates that the device can withstand hot and/or cold jet streams of water.
Articles from clarionuk and iec.ch say that IPX8/68 is the best submersion protection available, the IPX9/69 is not indicative of submersion protection only but some level of temperature resilience too. This is a bit difficult to say for aure since the website also say that the '9' is followed by a letter to indicate specific nature of the rating IP69K means temperature, D for wire, F for oil, W for certain weather and so on.
Some more articles explain how the rating is achieved. Whoever is doing these tests does not directly go for the desired eating a manufacturer wants, they instead do all the tests starting for IP00 to see where the device fails.
If I had to guess, the two seperate ratings here are what would normally be IP68M and IP69K this means the device has passed both testa and includes all the test ratings preceding these numbers. Brands just choose to not include the letter at the end because most consumers aren't interested in that level of data.
But anyway, this is all I could find out, hope it helps.

So they dropped the Ultrawide camera OIS and use smaller sensor in favor of additional 22 degrees FoV. They also dropped the periscope focal length from 85mm to 70mm.

I really like the design of the phone in the beige color. It's a rare case of a company trying to be different and actually achieving it. I guess it's suppposed to look like an older camera, but it also kind of gives of Bauhaus vibes I guess. It has more artistic appeal then the starry nights version
