Renato Russo, 25 Nov 2024What is this "security control" you talk about? D... moreMy analysis starts from Android 13 (also present in Android 12, but not fully operational) and its "safety checks" on the policy of file permits and folders.
Files and folders contained in the emulated SD, or the user space data.
A classic example may be that of writing permits and (in some cases) negotiated reading.
Some practical examples;
- The hidden subcartille of the SD emulated user (i.e. the user data space) Android/Data, Android/Media, etc., are not accessible due to those "Sacety Checks"
- Many application, which legitimately (first) had access to reading and writing in any folder of the emulated SD (user data space), now they no longer have that possibility. (literally forcing the conscious user to use ADB commands or an external device, such as a PC or Mac, to access these folders and files, as these folders and files were also used by legitimate backup or by All those legitimate programs that used such folders and files for their configuration)
Practical example: Openbor, an openource program, a script engine, used to create pixel art games.
From version 14 of Android, it is automatically considered as "incompatible" or "without the necessary permits necessary for execution", in fact, making one of the best creative programs on the Gaming square useless. (the real and passionate one)
The Devs declare that they are (still, therefore to date) "analyzing" the situation (that is, they take into consideration any changes to the system and kernel of the OS Android).
The only observation: the program in question, Openbor, has never requested specific permits to work, its sole objective, was to create a legitimate subcartella in the emulated SD (user data space) for its configuration and reading of mod, namely i Games created by indie fans.
Another clarifying example is the "strange" case of the Prouot program (used for Kernel system calls), much appreciated by that conscious user, able to emulate a complete Linux system and, in gaming (the serious one), programs such as a winilar .
Strangely, and I say: "strangely" the problem of "permits" began in manifestrase "just" with a winlater, a glybc, a mobox, etc.
Or in any case of all those programs that use Syscalls or legitimate system calls!
Other "strange curiosity";
- The legitimate Prot program, officially downloaded by the PlayStore, does not "seem" to have these "security problems".
The "strangest thing" is the awareness that the legitimate version downloadable from GitHub, an important open -lease platform, gives "safety problems". (the dev, is investigating in that case)
So yes, my friend, Android is becoming Apple.
The risk is that it will be worse than an Apple.
So, producers such as Oppo (OnePlus, Realme specifically), but also Xiaomi, Nubia, Vivo, etc, from now on they will have to be "more careful" in filling in their Android builds.
Finally, I cannot blame those users who say (and who make you think and reflect on the future);
"Given the price at which today's Android devices are sold, then it is better to buy an iPhone directly"

I think more than anything else, that the problem of the price is the minor of Realme's problems.
Being (Oppo) OnePlus "Twin", the biggest problem concerns version 15 of Android and its "security control".
Therefore, the analysis of the situation is necessary to clarify the problems in compries and co.
Since this problem (serious for conscious users who wish to use their device, in accordance with their needs), does not agree with the possible use of games outside the PlayStore.
It is a serious problem and must be addressed as soon as possible.

[deleted post]In general, locking the bootloader is a morally wrong policy. It is an infringement of the user's freedom to use their device however they wish to. I personally wouldn't root my phone, but only because it has become such a hassle to do so due to things like Google's stupid SafetyNet API and things like that. And I say this all on a Google Pixel, which is THE phone to get if you want to root your phone due to how easy and convenient it is to do so compared to every other OEM.

No. Not the global pricing of the Realme GT 7 Pro will decide its fate.
It's the policy of Realme that will decide its fate. If they continue to lock the bootloader on all Realme phones on purpose without giving the user the choice to unlock the bootloader and flash custom ROM or even root the device, then Realme is doomed. No poll can change that.

It will be an uphill battle as time goes on for gt7 pro, as soon as the other brands start releasing their performance "flagships" such as oneplus ace 5, iqoo neo 10 pro, redmi k80 pro, etc

Would've been better if this came with a 6500 mah battery but the specs are good otherwise. The pricing will be an important thing
