Some regions like the EU have a hard limit on the size of portable batteries (ranging from all kinds of mobile devices such as phones, all the way to power banks) before they incur a huge tax. Some other regions are loose with these regulations, but it's always safer to match the strictest regulations (usually the EU) than to keep creating different versions for every single market (which is why the global version of Chinese phones always adhere to EU regulations first and foremost), or to roll the dice and end up violating laws and incurring huge taxes and penalties therefore driving up the price of the end product, or worse, get the entire stock banned in that region and suffer astronomical losses because of that.

                Agree with you.
                Usually is about some particular country banned some product/material (i.e. don't use material from Xiiin Jiiiianng), or perhaps say that they must produce it in that country (must use battery made in India)

                        Cameras, charging speeds battery sizes and even chipset

                        It baffles me that people think it's unreasonable to have lower expectation of specs when globally released
