GPU stability really sucks in Dimensity 8300, according to 3DMark.

Anonymous, 4 hours agoTransition is what Xiaomi used to be.... Cheap & Afford... moreYou know them now but I know them more than 15 years now they are around way before even Xiaomi, am from Africa myself BTW.

Well, Tecno, infinix and Itel are doing well here cause they give you the value of what you buy.

Ohh, and they still include charger in the box as well as screen protector

It's still bellow Huawei/Vivo/Oppo/Xiaomi in term of Software and Hardware.
But, it's good enough and stable.

And Transition is also a company that value progression. They invest in R&D to improve their product over time. Transition product is keep getting better and better.

Anonymous, 10 hours agoXiaomi is simply the best xoxoI have a Poco F6 now. Not my first Poco phone. Had some other Xiaomi/Redmi models in past.
The only thing I find nice in Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco phones is the charging speed and good chipsets for relatively cheaper prices.
The software experience is usually average or below average.
This is just my opinion from personal experience.

I wonder how much smartphones sales in general compared to dump phones in Africa

You think only 18M phones are sold here every 3 month? That's only official figures, no one smuggling Tecno phones in Africa, you find Iphones, Samsung, Sony, Oppo, Sharp Aquos etc

Most phones sold in Africa are refurbished phones originate from Dubai, Japanese, China, Korea and USA market. And they market them heavily with Government blessings,

It will now be very difficult for Samsung to dislodge Transsion Holdings from the top spot as the gap between the two is widening a little more each year. I would not even be surprised to see Xiaomi take second place in the medium term. These data prove even more than ever that the fringe ready to afford brand new high-end Samsung or Apple devices remains a minority on the African market, a trend reinforced by the adverse effects of galloping inflation. The entry-level and mid-range / "premium" mid-range segment remains and will remain dominant for years to come.

With the inflation effects and all the hardships of everyday life Transsion Holdings will remain african leader market for many years to come, the gap between them and Samsung is impressive and increasing every year, I won't be surprised to see Xiaomi toppling them from their second place in the near future. People who can afford fancy Samsung and Apple flagships remain a minority after all.
