Anonymous, 5 hours agoI hope the existing 13 series users aren't left high a... moreI hope that as well but honestly I doubt it. Been using the 13 Pro 5G since February. It's been kinda regular on that aspect. HyperOS 2.0 is apparently better optimized but I don't have much hope on it.

I'm waiting for the global version of this one (14 Pro+) to see if I get it or I rather jump ship to Vivo V30 or V40/Honor 200/Moto Edge 50 Neo. All of those have better battery life than my current phone, even the Moto with its 4300mAh battery.

Anonymous, 3 hours agoOh no! Not again a cheap mediocre AMOLED display. I am ver... moreThere is no balance in anything. There are no compact phones in the market from known brands that are in budget price class or middle class price. All is only flagship from the very few who make them a bit smaller phones.

LCD takes more power from the battery so that is probably one of the reasons they dont use it. Also as i understand the LCD is harder to make bezelless screens.

Anyway since when any phone brand care about what users want ? Users want SD card slot but they dont give that to users. Users also want 3.5mm jack but none give that to users. Same with compact size phones that are even more compact then Samsung standard S class or standard iPhone size. Around the size of a iPhone SE be nice but with screen edge to edge. There are none in the market in middle and budget price range it's just a wet dream as of now

All you have left is to get yourself a eye glasses with the filter in it that protects you from the screen flickering

Anonymous, 3 hours agoOh no! Not again a cheap mediocre AMOLED display. I am ver... moreI'm kinda sensitive to PWM as well, but Xiaomi has some of the best AMOLED in the segment. I wanted to use the Samsung A55 and just couldn't stand it. Had to return it a few weeks later and get back to my RN13P 5G.

14 pro back design looks nicer. Bust sadly MT SOC...

They removed the headphone jack. Very much disappointed.

Oh no! Not again a cheap mediocre AMOLED display.
I am very sensitive to OLED flickering. OLED is not very much eye friendly.
IPS LCD is much better and you know it.

Why are 75% (or more) of all smartphones using OLED display?
This is not very balanced. The market share should be 50% OLED and 50% IPS LCD.
We need more smartphones with IPS LCD displays on the market.

Anonymous, 5 hours agoI hope the existing 13 series users aren't left high a... moreWhat does decent battery life even means ???
I had redmi note 5 ai dual cam with 4000mAh battery and for 5 years i charged it at most 2 times a week. It all depends on what you do with the phone that drains the battery. I also have not uninstalled any apps and so on that come with the phone.

Really pointless to listen and believe what other people talk about battery life when the experience is different based on the user as what they do with the phone.

It's not like there is a perfect OS skin from other brands. All of them have their own issues

I also dont make any difference in battery life with OS updates on my Poco F5 now when i have used it something like 17 months.

Every brand have their own issues so just hate some brand cause of some minor issues is kind of dumb. Xiaomi is very price balanced brand compared to Samsung and the like that give you long term updates as their only good feature

People keep saying you've to debloat and stuff to get some acceptable battery life. That's non-sense. I paid for the product. It should work properly out of box. 14 series might also have some latent issues. Who'll trust them to fix anything?

Like, you have to try really hard to make worse chipset names than they do. Sometimes even Intel makes more sense and their latest 200 series are god awful.

Boldpixel, 8 hours agoDoes releasing in India mean realising globally or is that ... moreGlobal usually comes shortly after. Have low expectations though, it was rumored to lose the Telephoto in exchange for 200mp main cam and 2mp macro, in Global markets.
Rumors which I hope are false

Akthanakos, 7 hours agoThey're the same processor, just different clock speed... moreNot really. 7s Gen 3 has newer architecture than 7 Gen 3 itself.

This 14 Pro+ is the only model worth to get from Note series.
Should come with good enough cameras as close to flagship phones cameras while the phone price be half of what the flagship phones cost.

The camera quality difference for majority is not something they can make difference anyways.

The ... moreThey're the same processor, just different clock speeds. 7 is the "normal", 7s is the cheaper underclocked version, while the 7+ is the overclocked. Sometimes they also have different GPUs.

I don't understand the naming scheme of Qualcomm. The 7s Gen 3 performs lower than the standard 7 Gen 3 and 7+ Gen 3 performs way better than both 7 and 7s.

Why have so much performance disparity between processors with similar name. People might buy the wrong phone going by the processor name.
