It's just mind-bending.

So basically a phone with worse thermal management, weaker battery, probably more fragile, with less space for good cameras and more expensive...Yeah good luck with that

Good. Lightweight phone is much more important than lightweight desktop or tablet. Oppo R5 has been the thinnest phone for long enough (even though this will not beat it).

You're also forgetting that it's said to have a (much ?) higher price than the Max Pro, for much lower specifications.

Apart from the thinness, for those who like that, there won't be much, if anything, to entice to buy this model.

While EU try's to reduce garbage and force repairability and sutainability, here comes this crappy companie with another "innovation" to make their crappware unrepairable.... just unbelieveble... the question is, does anyone really need this?

What about 17 Water? Even thinner and invisible.

Apple is testing slim profile on customers for their future foldables.

S I R E, 7 hours agoI don't get the point of thinner phones and tablets if... morewhat's the matter with you? Why are you using logic and talking about pro-consumer tactics with Apple?

Anonymous, 7 hours agoInterestingly, that's how quite a few Apple owners are... moreLoL at "ecosystem".

You have to be really insane if you only buy products from a single company. And the company has to be really crappy if that's is main "advantage".

so basically apple thinks anyone would buy this because its thinner with about same size and has so much worse battery life?

The specs sound terrible. Not surprising with how mediocre the base models already are, besides the good battery life, which this inevitably ruins.

I really have doubts about the durability of such a thin phone
Every time companies have introduced something so thin, it usually has faced issues with build

Nextbit Robin, iPhone 6, Xiaomi mi5 etc all thin phones, and they all failed in durability (either bent easily, or broke in half under slightest pressure)

                              Centered camera?

This should probably just make it the "budget" model of the lineup... Right?

S I R E, 7 hours agoI don't get the point of thinner phones and tablets if... moreI guess becasue they assume you’ll use a case anyways

                                    > This will however lack mmWave support and will have slower overall data speeds compared to the Qualcomm chips.

Can't wait until an Apple fanboy said "mmWave band are faster data speeds are useless!!! We use WiFi anyways."

Baggin, 7 hours agoIn fact, the battery problem could be solved if they wanted... moreI can't argue against manufacturers using silicon batteries because it is a solution consumers are benefiting from now, but silicon carbon is a stop-gap solution with limits. That's why you don't see them in wearables where they could really make a difference. Solid state batteries will be a solution for the next 20+ years. Apple can wait out a year or two until SSBs go commercial. Capacity is only one part of the equation. Their smaller Li-on batteries still compete with silicon batteries that are 30% larger.

pointless product once again. dead on arrival. just drop the failed fourth model (mini/plus/air) and make a decent SE for once.
