To be honest, the titanium is a gimmick anyway. It's just a top layer of titanium on top of aluminum. And going back to stainless steel doesn't make any sense as it's too heavy, so I wouldn't be surprise if they went back to aluminum. Frankly, there's nothing wrong with it.

I read it all and they are calling all that a huge change 😂 bruh apple and these people that blindly support apple should be ashamed of themselves. If this rumor is true...then this is not true innovation from Tim Cook and his apple team at all. Meagre updates, just for them to charge a heart, two legs and a arm for the line up.

I came here waiting to read something like getting rid of the notch or adding a new 10-15X periscope camera module. That's the shocking change? I honestly have no idea why people care about phone material. I only care about the weight, since this is what I feel after I engulf any phone in a Spigen case.

They take away the titanium, put in aluminum and make it more expensive. More of the same and no innovation.

Tiramisu, 26 Nov 2024Hmmm… Why Aluminum? Why not stainless steel?Aluminum is the best for heat dissipation. Stainless like on the iPhone X and newer had the absolute worst thermal performance, the titanium wasn't much better but the aluminum base model phones did significantly better with thermal performance. With their crazy AI push they are gonna need better thermal performance, I think that's why they have redesigned the entire chassis around the phone to optimize thermals with the iPhone 16 as well.

The iPhone 5s aluminum design with the glass panels at the top and bottom in a modern phone? TAKE MY MONEY

Honestly more interested in the base iPhone 17. It was previously predicted to finally have an industry standard refresh rate. Since the non-Max pro has grown in size, I hope the vanilla will shrink to 5.9" screen with slim bezels. This outdated 6.1" screen size should be relegated to their SE series.

Hoping this is true just for the sake of change

Scamsung :copy that copy that……ps. they did use metal wrap around camera though till s22

SShock, 26 Nov 2024So, add titanium and increase price. Replace titanium with ... moreYou mean, increse price.

Anonymous, 26 Nov 2024why not entire back aluminum ? no one will miss wireless anywaysWell lots of people are using wireless! Even the Magsafe Accessories. Android Manufacturers want to add these features on their smartphones!

If this pans out then other companies like Samsung will also stop using titanium and honestly it's just useless on a smartphone. Alluminium is good enough for phones. And also if they are doing horizontal camera arrangement then they are going to do it the Apple way so it's not a Pixel copy.
