Lumia 1020 is such a failure! It should've had 1" sensor, it should've had better algorithms.
808 PureView destroys it.

What I observed from this forum, most of the commentators love Nokia but not WP. The fight is between WP vs. Android vs. iOS. Not between Nokia vs. other brands. So I think if just Nokia will listen to market then Nokia will not suffer so much.

i love nokia hardware but putting windows 8 make it nowhere cause of lack of apps games etc....android is better than wp 8 but it is lag to much even it used many cores and your android phone will outperform after 2 to 3 years..ios still better than those os....hmmm nokia with ios...lol..

iam using Nokia Lumia 820 & also samsung galaxy s4, finally i came to a conclusion.. that Nokia built a beautiful, good looking phones with superb built quality & nice windows 8 os.
offcouse compare to android apps, still windows 8 os apps need to add more..i heard they are developing more apps..anyway iam satisfied :-)

Even the entry-level Lumia 520 gives better performan... moreWell that certainly isn't my experience if we're talking about any quad core Android phone released this year. All outperform or are just as fast as the Lumia 820 (and I've used models from dozen manufacturers through the course of the year).
It's not that I don't like the Nokia hardware. I've owned more Nokia's than I can remember. I bought an Asha 501 just as a backup after using one at the Nokia store for about 30 minutes. Obviously it's not a high end phone, but I mention it because it's not Nokia I don't like, it's Microsoft's OS and the history with their mobile platforms.
I can tell you first hand that their support has been really bad, going back to Mobile 5. It's not that they don't release updates, it's the problem with the updates; usually not fixing critical bugs and seemingly create as many new bugs as were fixed.
Also, the updates don't get released to all current model phones or to all manufacturers. Their last Windows Mobile 6 update was horrible. After that one even Steve Ballmar admitted the company failed in their windows mobile platform execution.
What has changed? Based upon the issues my wife has experienced with the 820, having basic functionality problems, not much it seems.
If not for the bad press (mostly online) and users imploring MS to make changes, I doubt the Amber update would have ever happened. We'll see if the update really does fix the bugs and functionality issues (like something as basic as going forward/backward through pages you've visited in the IE browser - yes, it's missing in WP8).
Here's a indicator of what's going on inside Microsoft and why I think they're still not 100% behind supporting their users on the WP platform like they are on the PC platform

For fixing something that needs to fixed he's going to get yelled at? WTF is going on at Microsoft!?!
Do you worry about what model or brand hardware is going to get Windows supported when you buy a PC?
As a consumer, would you expect any less support for your smart phone than you would for your PC? You might, but I don't.
Until Microsoft proves they've got their $hit together and are committed to delivering a quality product with the same level of support they provide to their computing platform, I won't be purchasing any new phones or tablets run by their operating systems.

always mind ... moreListen to this guy. I was a Windows 7x user and Windows Mobile user before that. With each release Micro$haft takes away more features and still can't get rid of the bugs.
I'll say it again, Nokia would be better off putting the Asha 1.0 platform on their Lumia line and let the market decide which platform they prefer.

Windows 8 even more worst os than Symbian.
I used Windows 7.5 and 7.8 now Windows 8.....
for performance I will give "0" for Windows 8....
touch freeze during incoming call, internet shows
HTTP ERROR 403, 404 MANY TIMES... AND RESTARTS atometicly after every 1 or 2 hour if u once connect ur phone to a pc...
