Expensive niche appeal and no longer a new and flashy concept, naturally interest will wane

LMAO Sammi, 14 hours agoI wonder why does Sammy Foldables dropped so badly..... wel... moreIt was very rare for me to see Foldables, especially Samsung, being sold on used markets. The very few ones that are sold looked like they've been damaged with how stupid the crease looks like. It's no wonder the sellers rarely showcase the inner screen lmao.

Samsung share in foldable market will keep decreasing because of cheaper competitors. They need $600 flip FE $900 Fold FE if they want to keep the big pie

I wonder why does Sammy Foldables dropped so badly..... well blind Freddy could tell you that clearly the minor iteration BS is not working is it? Same 4400Mah battery for the last 5 years for the Fold, minor cameras bump every second year, while the rest of the Chinese Foldables uese up to 6500Mah battery with same top SD chipset, cameras upgrades, thinner & lighter with new battery tech.
Even their last minute desperate attempt to play catch up with Z Fold SE removes the signature Stylus support while Honor Magic V3 is much thinner lighter yet still has Stylus support; go figure Sammy. Hope the New CEO of Sammy gives the mobile division a good kick up the As#, being super complacent & been sitting on their laurels for years. Same can be said with the S series ultra same battery capacity and similar designs for the last 5 years with minor bump in camera each year.
I had owned every new S Ultras series since S21 but no more for me, sick and tired of the same old Sammy, just boring and unimaginative can only regurgitate the same or copy Apple, just look at their new buds lol, even their former CEO was apologetic.

Last week the disinformation spammers were raving about how all Chinese manufacturers of foldables are shutting down because they're not selling anything. This week they're claiming the Chinese brands has doubled their sales year over year. Which is it?
These influencer services are delivering numbers ordered by clients, to try sell an idea. Usually by that brand not having a foot in the foldables business.

I know many of you are happy because you want to see the downfall of Samsung, but I don't view this as good news for the foldable market at all. All this proves is they can take shares from Samsung. That's just a shift in the market. It doesn't represent substantial growth. Going into 2025 we should have been at 20 million sales minimum.
That further proves the only way foldables go mainstream is thru Apple. That aside analyst already predicted overall foldables sales would drop for 2024.

You know why? It isn't all about competition. Not everybody wants great software support and they care about price just to show off their phones in public. But one ui is worth it if you ask.

Durability :), a slab phone today is almost like a Nokia 20 years ago, while these foldables are basically made to last about 2 years, such a sale's strategy is outdated...

Michalis, 21 hours agoThey've been doing the exact same thing with their S S... moreYeah but they can kind of get away with those, they arent foldables (still a niche market), not as expensive and have no durability concerns

As long as they dont do these for budget price to middle class price and only do it for the flagship then that is expected as the flagship segment is very colorful with all types of phones in high end prices that is in single digit percent of the market.
If they only would make a budget version something 150-250 euro range and middle class something 300-450 euro range then the market would be a lot bigger for these. As it's not even can't afford as the reason. I would say that if budget phones today are already good enough in performance and everything to satisfy all the needs of a user then what be the point to spend 4-5 times the price for just the fold that makes the phone more compact and pocket friendly. For that one feature it makes no sense

Ambition, greed and believing that they will never get over it!! Come on, what sent Nokia and many other brands to sit on the bench.

I'm delighted that Samsung has collapsed in this area! It's everything they deserve! And they're not going to improve their image by finally releasing what others are doing for a price! Let them pay!

No surprise here, Samsung dropped the ball with the 6 series while every other brand brought their A game. Having the same cameras and battery 3-4 years in a row for that price is suicide
