Yo, 02 Dec 2024And still nobody outside China cares about HuaweiI use Huawei equipment daily. Try to get away from Google that sells my information, force me to buy storage from them aso. Huawei makes great products, only here in Mexico they are really expensive, probably due taxes.

It's kinda ironic how Chinese OEMs use pretty white models for their promos, whereas white countries use token diversity hires and drag queens.

Considering they're just sanctioning Chinese companies to eliminate competition to their own, there's a certain poetic justice when these companies completely overcome the sanctions and develop even better alternatives to supposed US tech.

Vale, 02 Dec 2024I find it funny how Huawei is going global with all its new... moreThis is going to be a very interesting period with HarmonyOS NEXT and Huawei completely divorcing themselves from google now.
What is going to be interesting is app support. I remember it was the lack of apps that really killed Microsoft's attempt at creating Windows Mobile, but Huawei have a huge domestic market to tap into, and as long as they can keep the key apps that the Chinese market care about they may be able to maintain a large enough user base. Then the question will be if western app developers jump on board as well to tap into that market share which might give NEXT a chance to establish itself as a third pillar of mobile OS where microsoft failed.

If Huawei do succeed in this, then I think you could argue that the way they've developed hardware and software independence would then make those US sanctions turn out to be a spectacular failure of foreign policy in hindsight.

I find it funny how Huawei is going global with all its new models with no Google services. Meanwhile the other brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo still launch a lot of their best phones exclusively for china
