Last week a shocking report said it would go back not to stainless steel, but to aluminum.

"But Apple has also been a very profit-driven company recently" - the author is apple hater. What about Samsung? Their flagships price are even higher that iPhones. DUH!

All company, like your company, are profit-driven. Another DUH for you! LOL

Why not stainless steel? Cheaper than titanium, stronger than both aluminum and titanium, feels premium, easier to recycle than titanium.

I really think that titanium on a smartphone is completely unnecessary. Aluminum is good enough for phones, titanium and aluminum both feel almost the same, titanium doesn't introduce groundbreaking durability to iPhones. So I think it would be wise of Apple to move back to aluminum because at the end it doesn't make a huge difference to the consumer.

If Apple didn't tell you that this is titanium on a phone then you would never feel any difference, you would dismiss it as aluminum.

                      WOW! AMAZING!

When there's nothing left to offer, Apple goes out of the way to brag with the material used in manufacturing of the product. A true industry innovator, LG, where art thou?

This report is more credible; Apple are so proud of their use of titanium that they have the word in every color they offer on their pro line, so it wouldn't make sense for them to stop using it cold turkey like that, especially if they're going to replace it by aluminum not stainless steel.

I said in the other news about going back to aluminum that that was a good candidate for april's fools and i stick to it.
The only chance Apple would be going back to aluminum is if they could find a super special alloy of aluminum, in a way that they could *convince* people that it's the best thing since sliced bread. And knowing Apple, they could do it but i highly doubt it because the risks of it going wrong and damaging the reputation would be too big...

I have definitely seen this guy post other leaks before but does anybody know how reliable is he? Is he like a Digital Chat Station kind of guy or just some random?

I know the rumors about the iPhone going back to aluminium sound almost impossible to be true but it comes from The Information who have been very very accurate in the past.
