Like A10 onwards locking most non rooted users out of data/obb folders. And looking around, android gamers mostly are not the type to get mad at the lack of updates.

This isn't a 250€ phone and even there Xiaomi kinda surprised me on occasions where you expected no updates because cheap phone and you got them. For phones over 500€ I expect at least 4 major OS updates as minimum.

They're good at providing software updates for that 2-3 years cycle. Though not as fast as other brands, they release an update every 2-4 months for security and stability updates. 2 OS updates are provided too.

I like the flush cameras so much and the fact that they are the only ones who mastered under display selfie camera. But it being ZTE means basically no software support and that sucks.

It's not as black and white "they're greedy" or "they're not greedy". Apple is an American brand, ofc China would tax the heck out of em.

jiyen235, 03 Dec 2024samsung and sony aren't chinese, they already have sup... moreSamsung phones are made in Vietnam. Sony in Thailand.
Both brands need to import to sell in Europe, still do not charge price higher 80% compared to prices asked in Asia.
Iphones in Europe are as expensive as they are in China. Where majority of them are assembled.

Zte , also chinese corporation, is selling for bit lower price compared to China. But fanboys like Cpt Xiaomi blames VAT other costs to justify why a phone from xiaomi sold in China for 870 euros becomes 1500 euros in Europe.
These costs do not double price of products. It is purely profit.

so basically, global version on 10pro is Chinese 10pro+? cuz its 7050 battery is from 10pro+

Anonymous, 03 Dec 2024And zte does not pay too? Samsung and Sony do not incre... moresamsung and sony aren't chinese, they already have super high prices in their country. The Pura 70 Ultra for example was super expensive in China, CNY 9,999 which is like 1300 euros and the global release was "only" 200 euros more expensive, 1500 euros.

If you don't understand how important it is to have parts available in your own country, then you won't get it. Most of Samsung and Sony's parts are outsourced but most of Chinese phones aren't or are government subsidized most likely. So if a phone's gonna go out of the country, why would the govt support that? Higher costs cus of that.

Ofc these are just educated guesses and no one can know 100% of the truth except for company execs

Nubia global is technically a drop shipper based in Hong Kong and sale volume is way lower, so tax situation is different.
