And just look at antutu What the Elite and 9400 have in terms of pure Power ! Huawei is only in the List thanks to SD CPU 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ They do Magic with the Software but there is a Limit. Aslong the ban is active Huawei goes nowhere and this is a fact !

john, 04 Dec 2024As far as I can tell, Huawei already won the chip wars. The... moreAnTuTu scores for the Kirin 9020 chip used in the Mate 70 Pro+ revealed roughly 1.3 million points. That was nowhere near the score the flagship chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek achieved at the time (e.g at most roughly 2 to 2.1 million points for the 2024 Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, roughly 1.9 million points for the successful OnePlus 12 smartphone using that chip, but this score constituted a nearly 30% improvement over the Kirin 9010 chip found in the Pura 70 series, which scored nearly 1 million points on AnTuTu.

Bobi7x7 , 05 Dec 2024Garbage cpu if compared to SD 8 Elite or MT 9400 😂You do realize Qualcomm and Mediatek have no sanctions imposed on them unlike Huawei, right?
So I don't understand why are you laughing at them.
If the rumored 40% increase in performance is true, then that's impressive and not laughable.
Of course I can agree that the price is high for that performance and there are better performing phones, but If someone is willing to buy It's their money.

Just realized something... Isn't the Kirin family the ONLY chipset that features Multitheaded cores? 8c/12t is a unique feature in smartphones. but common on PCs.

john, 04 Dec 2024As far as I can tell, Huawei already won the chip wars. The... moreThe process node doesn't dictate performance....
As an example, if it did Intels latest CPU lineup would easily beat AMDs 2 year old Ryzen 7000 line up with ease in compute performance and efficiency which it barely does in some tasks but mostly doesn't manage either or at cost of far less efficiency in comparison to an according AMD counterpart in every price bracket.
Huawei with their high end Kirin chips is what, two maybe three generations behind Qualcomm and Mediatek, at least in synthetic benchmarks for pure outright performance.
The efficiency is fine because their software isn't particularly heavy compared to some Android UIs but still nothing to write home about.
Unless Huawei can magically close the massive gap they have performance wise within a generation or two of their current chips while keeping alright efficiency or improving upon that as well they will keep being behind on compute performance for the forseeable future.

I only know China from the movies but I like Chinese phones :)
I will buy my first Huawei phone when they finally allow bootloader unlocking, rooting and custom ROM development. Until then I watch from the sidelines the amazing technological achievements of Huawei. Good luck Huawei!

Huawei will surely be a leader in a few years...this is a company backed by Chinese government...no one in the world can follow this...Chinese have climb to the Moon, 5th generation stealth fighters, trains going 1000 km/h, etc...It is just matter of time when they will become chip manufacturer leader...everyone who visited China at least one time can understand it easily...

Anonymous, 04 Dec 20247nm cant be same as 4nm stop being delusional Yes it can. Didnt you know what is advertised as being 4nm is not really 4nm anyway? It's just marketing.

As far as I can tell, Huawei already won the chip wars. The Kirin 9020 is 6, maybe 7nm, but performs at the level of 4nm. Regarding the other parts, such as battery, charging speed, display, satellite connectivity, etc, it is already ahead of the competition. I will continue supporting Huawei. Congratulations, Huawei, you are the winner.
