If you don't like Firefox you can always load different ROMs on it, such as Cyanogen, Ubuntu or some other os. If you brick it you've tossed $80...not a big deal.

AnonD-92769, 12 Aug 2013Why Mozilla, Ubuntu, Blackberry, Sailfish developper and Ti... moreThat's not going to happen anytime soon, if ever.

They're all alliances of various hardware manufacturers, software companies or mobile operators. Each with different market strategies, objectives and os design.

                  In a nutshell,

Sailfish is MeeGo (old Nokia crew).
Tizen is primarily Intel and Samsung.
Ubuntu is Ubuntu, backed by various OEMs and an assortment of mobile carriers across the world.

Then you have Blackberry, who has always had their sown OS and it's intended for their hardware only.

The only strategy that comes close to working would be Ubuntu and Firefox. But there you have idealogical os design differences, with Firefox app platform being html 5, while Ubuntu will support html 5 and natively written apps.

But all this is exciting to be sure. I give credit to Firefox. As a volunteer organization they've accomplished quite a bit and deserve recognition.
