I would much prefer if they found some way to NOT have the displays needing 'something' besides the disc. It would be great if the connector could go back under the display with 'zero' addition to the width, and not several mm addition,....

The flat-tyre design of the Motorolas was another attempt to handle this problem,

After using rotating bezel on my galaxy watch 6 classic I won't use any watch with crown.

e.g. "Phone" are no longer used for phone-sized devices only but also phablets... But good luck trying to revert that.

And there are no clear definition of "smart watch", and how dumb&advanced it needs to be, nor size limits.

Smart watch as they were introduced about ten years ago are pretty dumb by today's standards, but some close are still around (e.g cheap Chinese ones), and some of the Ios and WearOS ones are so advanced that it really would make more sense to call them something new like wrist-mobiles.

It is confusing that there are no clear line all agree on, between smart band and smart watch. Nor are there any clear line between the simple dumb Chinese smart watches, and the fancy WearOS ones. And some like many from Garmin place themselves somewhere in between.....,

keep in mind that, huawei gt series are simply better built smart bands, not smartwatches. so, this is still a pretty steep price for a smart band

God circular smarwatches are ugly and pointless.
I'm all for a traditional mechanical circular watch, but once you go digital you go square. And once you go futuristic like smartwarches you go rectangel or even pill shaped.

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2024This is more like giving product feedback, than a review.I would say it looks more like "forwarding a press release", than a "review", but maybe we will get it extended to an actual review if/when they have actually used it (beyond just charging) for some days?

Too bad with the ugly clumsy band-attachment of the 41.3mm model, making it about 48½mm long, and thus not as suitable as it could have been for lesser arms.

Compare with a traditional band attachment on something with the same screen like the ø41.0mm H06 with 46.5mm length with the same screen. (~25% thinner, but dumber). Made a review of that one here https://eskerahn.dk/?p=6567

Good battery life shouldn't only mean 14d vs apple watch 1d usage but also the battery should last long after warranty since most wearable battery seem to prone to fail after 2 years.

I've the GT 5 with blue strap. I love it, has all the features I need and more (the emotion tracker is actually quite accurate, it knows when I'm stressed at work haha), it feels light on the wrist, and takes any 18mm strap so I swapped it out for a silicone-back, leather-front strap that's comfortable and looks great. Get a screen protector though, because mine already has scratches from random knocks. Still, I recommend the watch!
