But in my country, we do have the 8/256 version of the Infinix Xpad and it costs about $150. Still a very reasonable price tag for a G99-powered device if you ask me, especially considering that there aren't many good low-end tablets with G99 and 8GB RAM.

Heck, even those tablets from Itel also only comes with 4GB RAM here. The Redmi Pad SE (the regular one, not the 8,7". They don't sell the 8,7" here after all) is the only one here with 6GB RAM, though the processor is not as powerful as the one from Xpad and A9. Plus, they're no longer selling one here.

But I do agree that there's hardly a better chip in the low-end segment currently.
The Infinix Xpad (Tecno Megapad 11 clone) launched for $113 in my country, and it's the best value tablet for that price, beating the Redmi Pad SE and Galaxy Tab A9.

Name me a better chipset (that still on production) that can fit on this tablet which does not affect the price of this tablet. I'll wait.
You might the same type of people that still complain about software update on the Redmagic phone comment section, even though you already got the best hardware on the market at that price point.

This is one of the best 4G midranger chipset that STILL ON PRODUCTION that you can find in the market rn, even if you compare with the one from Qualcomm. If you mean G100, then prepare to be dissapointed, but G100 is nothing but a G99 with better ISP. Dimensity 6k series? It's also just G99 with slightly higher (200 mHz) clockspeed (you won't notice the different compared to G99, really) and 5G. If we're going to Qualcomm's 5G offering or Dimensity 7k, it will be farrrrrrrrrrrr more expensive, and then you guys would complain that it's too expensive and then you guys rather spend [insert amount of money here] for an iPad or a Samsung tablet rather than a tablet from Tecno.

Anonymous, 06 Dec 2024How many people are willing to risk rooting their devices j... moreRooting your phone is not a risk. As root user you can disable and uninstall all bloat and spyware on your phone. It's a very powerful account on your device. The root account on an android phone is kind of like the administrator account on a windows PC. The root account is always there but you can only access it if the bootloader is unlockable. Trust me it's always better to have access to the root account on your device in case you ever need it.

That sucks. That's good to know. I won't buy them in that case.
I only buy phones that allow bootloader unlock (root) and flashing custom ROM. You never get the full android experience is you don't root your phone and flash custom ROMs. Just sayin'

And the ancient Helio G99 returns yet again. Sorry, but I think even a Dimensity 6080 would've fared better on a tablet like this
