Google expands OS upgrades to five years for Pixel 6, Pixel 7 and Pixel Fold

The phones are still on a five-year plan for security updates.

Good news, but I guess also a sign that development are levelling out so changes are minor year over year, so a five year old device is not that far from the newest so it is reasonable to still maintain it.

Also good news from a 'green' perspective. Though the repeairability still is out of reach for most users to do them self. Swapping battery and display require knowledge, and not just unscrewing and unplugging.
