Baggin, 07 Dec 2024Heh kid. You buy a tablet just for emulator? hahahha. Bette... moreIsn’t that what he was implying? Emulators are optimized for SDs.

Anonymous, 06 Dec 2024Now just add cellular modem +1 for cellular modem and phone capabilities

ipad mini 5g is good but ipadOS too restricted for me and lacks phone capabilities like samsung tab A9 (but the A9 is kind of weak and 4G instead of 5G). I can't understand why nobody wants to compete with the ipad mini 5g at a reasonable price yet. I believe there s a market for a tablet that's really mobile and reasonably priced but maybe I am wrong ...

Oppo's decision to power their X8 pad with Media Tek's flagship dimensity 9400 is a good choice for high end performance benchmarks and vast features. Built on the 3nm node process, the dimensity 9400 is the main rival to Qualcomm snapdragon 8 Elite and has proven to match its performance which is saying a lot.

A mini tablet with a flagship SoC, wow!!
But I bet they'd skip all the other features like 3.5mm HP kal, micro SD slot, USB 3.2 type-C, so in the end it'll be a compromise.
I hated that Lenovo removed the HP jack from their "gaming" Legion tablet!

dexton, 07 Dec 2024now that we finally can have OLED TV and OLED computer moni... moreMost gaming centric displays will remain LCD until OLED is as cheap or cheaper than LCD. Reason why this is an issue is that gaming often requires certain parts of the display to show static bright elements like health bars, kills counts, interactive icons, mini maps and such, this combined with raised SoC temperature will increase the rate/risk of burn-out (more commonly known as burn-in) on the organic diodes. OLEDs are not cheap, AMOLED (Active Matrix Light Emitting Diode) is even more expensive which is actually supposed to reduce this degrading process by shifting bright pixels ever so slightly to avoid so, games however have too bold (thick/large) static bright elements with very few games offering a way to change opacity of these elements. LCDs too have a similar issue of image retention but it is much less likely to happen on modern displays. All combined LCDs save money for the maker, a bad experience on the user who might not know why his/her OLED/AMOLED has a constant dark/pale spot on their screen and money to the user as well in case the display needs to be changed.

Most gamers who read about tech like this actually prefer IPS LCDs for gaming over AM/OLED because how bad it looks and feels when the burn-out happens. And speaking from personal experience, once you see the burn-out/in, you will never unsee it.

Fun fact, the Mini LED iPad Pro is a better gaming device for prolonged gaming than the newer M4 iPads with OLED.

Actually the old 870 is still better for emulation than the 8 elite. Why? Because the drivers are there and have been worked on for such a long time.
Please educate yourself on this. It's not dimensity's fault and snapdragon has nothing to do with emulators. If you want progress, pay or email the emulation team to work on different SoCs
