huawei should open their source code to the US government and let the Uncle Sam bugging anybody they are interested in. Uncle Sam is the benevolent hegemony and is the leader of the world. How dare Huawei! If many giant companies are independent from US agencies, how can they easily bug Merkel？

Seriously though, the whole point of freedom of speech is that governments cannot be trusted to define what is dangerous speech and what isn't, so only speech that directly causes a violence or worse, death; or where someone's career is ruined based off of what is proveably false allegations, is punished, as we can all agree that those cause real, measurable harm.
The UK's libel and defamation laws are so loose that they basically allow the rich the bully the poor into not being able to put forward their views, so mentioning them is the worst example you could've given.
As for the whole hate speech thing, it's a failure of law in that it doesn't just fundamentally go against freedom of speech, but it also doesn't prevent reoffending. People blow out of proportion the amount of racism the UK actually experiences (and actually, many of it comes from immigrants as well), and the real racists are exactly the kinds of people who wouldn't change their behaviour if they were charged for it. It also fundamentally gets misused by governments to censor those who are not bigoted. If you want to stop bigotry, this is the worst way to do it — education would be a much better focus for preventing bigotry.

There are restrictions placed on speech by libel and defamation laws and anti-discrimination laws for good reason. How far people are protected from hate speech depends on the jurisdiction and whether they care enough to protect minorities and the vulnerable. Obviously, with the hate speech and racism directed at Polish immigrants during the Brexit vote, the UK doesn't really care much about minorities.

When people talk about freedom of speech, generally they mean freedom of speech with limitations. Unrestricted freedom of speech is unpractical, but if it's allowed, it'll be extremely harmful to humanity. Human civilization will fall apart with unrestricted freedom of speech. You may think that it would be fun if you could freely criticize or defame other people without consequences, but you might be on the receiving end and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Also, freedom of speech without limitations means that fraudulent activities will be legal, governments can lie to their peoples, companies can lie to their customers, etc.

I have nothing against Huawei and the US government banning them was definitely partially due to lobby groups connected to companies like Apple, but that doesn't mean that the person I replied to understands freedom of speech. If they're going to bring politics into this, then it doesn't make them immune to being replied to by other people who also speak about politics. Want to push forward your politics? Don't be surprised when other people do the same to you, and don't cry about it.

For example if you make anti semitic statements against the Jews in USA you will be punished. So your criticism of China having no freedom of speech is that China's acceptable boundaries of free speech is different from thr west.

If I like the design
I think this could be a really good phone
Given how much cheaper Chinese phone are
Then all of there competition they should really win
Price is important factor
If it's affordable it is much better phone
Plus appgallory app store Huawei own app store
And alternate app stores like uptodown Aptoide or APKPure do work on Android with the added benefits that they don't lag I don't know if
There compatible with Harmony OS)
(Google is ram hog and android os is heavyer than Harmony OS)

[deleted post]There. You proved it. Every other country doesn't actually have freedom of speech, and I say this as someone who lives in the UK. Freedom of speech allows you to say whatever you want, however disagreeable, as long as you're not actively putting people's lives in danger. Hate speech or whatever else may be disagreeable and in bad taste, but freedom of speech allows you to say such things too. The concept of jailing someone for their speech, however disagreeable it may be, is fundamentally incompatible with the concept of free speech.
