AnonF-1061058, 11 Dec 2024Same name, different company. The only difference is that the same key people are under different ownership, similar to how Honor (Zhixin) behaves under Huawei. Hence, most resources are technically Nokia's (patents, proprietary OZO technology, etc.), while the design ownership is solely Foxconn's.

It needs 5th camera to see whats under too and not only 4 directions. Kind of gimmick feel on this product. And that wall mount made even less sense as why would you place the 4 directional camera 5cm close to wall when it should hang in the middle of the room sealing to get the actual 360 out of it

They're still pioneers.
If only they came back for real in the smartphone world, and not just give someone their brand to use.
I miss their small feature rich phones with a great single camera and removable batteries.

If VR ever becomes a real thing, this will be great for producing media for it. But until then, this still looks like a solution in search of a problem.

Well the product before costed 60k.
This far more advanced version will be maybe for half million according to specs.
In other words it will have no use for small companies who cant afford it and for the big ones there will be definitely lot of different cheaper options.
In case of mine cowering like it was said in topic it will be quiote expensive to be just burried in some mine if some kind of danger will arise.
