But the answer is operating system and platform. Every partner has had an ecosystem to build for. Working with another hardware company doesn't provide the benefits of users or developers.

      Why does Samsung feel like they need to partner with the untrustworthy Big Tech corps to make VR (now being rebranded as XR - fancy wording that just means you wear your VR headset more often) technology? First it was Facebook/Meta, now it's Google. I would have appreciated this more if Samsung were to partner with somebody else like... oh I dunno, Nvidia perhaps? Despite my own disdain for the company, they're currently experimenting with XR, and they could even incorporate some of their Shield OS tech into it.

      I'm sure this comment will weed out the Google fanboys who argue that this makes more sense, and I'm sure it does from a business standpoint. I just wish it was somebody other than Google, that's all.

        Gear VR was so much fun, it sucks so bad they cancelled it. This AR trash is useless.

You will undoubtedly look ridiculous but money is a magnet for girls. Additionally, some people have been seen using Apple's Vision Pro on the street while skateboarding, sitting on the subway or in the park, or while driving or walking on the streets. At this point no one will care.

Although Samsung's version will probably use less power and hopefully be much cheaper

                              Well Apple was huge fail with its product for big price.
                              Metaquest were awesome, HTC is awesome.
                              But Samsung can you imagine a VR by Samsung is powered by Exynos???

Supports wireless VR streaming from Windows. It is not hard to do better than Apple. Much better. There is an obvious reason the Apple headset flopped worse that the Apple Newton.
