Xiaomi needs to slow waaaay down with the number of phones they make. In 2024 they released 45 phones. That is a new phone every 8-9 days.
People have better luck learning to manually decode QR codes than whatever the fuck is xiaomi's lineup is.
Not to mention they need to stop stuffing their android skin full of ads and telemetry.

No matter what others says and fact Xiaomi outside of china cost 50-100% more still is the best value for money compared to brands like Samsung or Google or Apple because for same or even better price they offer lot better specced devices.

They don't have the production capacity a... moreWhat if Xiaomi got rid of Redmi and Poco and just sold older flagships to replace them, that way they wouldn't have to worry as much about production capacity since they don't have to make as many different models of phones. And for the budget phones, they could sell refurbished older flagships because they'll get higher profit margins if they don't have to use new materials to make a phone.

Why? No idea, I work for a company that has direct ties with distributing chinese devices (officially for EU market, not import)
But I do know why Xiaomi and few other Chinese brands remove the bricks in certain EU countries, while not in others.
Answer is pretty simple, they do not remove the bricks in countries where they are more popular to prevent backlash, and most of the time same countries have lower income than more "rich" countries where they do remove the brick.
Anyhow, considering PD charging will be mandatory to chinese brands too, not including a brick for proprietary charging tech is a short lived "issue".

And lol you're defending the EU like it's perfect. but anyways, let's just say that Xiaomi and others are super greedy, why aren't they taking away the chargers for ALL EU countries then? We don't have the necessary information to know why some companies remove the chargers in some countries and others don't. I don't really want to blame anyone but the easiest target is the EU as they're the common variable here. I don't understand why companies will remove chargers if they don't allow you to have the chargers officially as an alternative as well, how are they going to profit from this if they actually removed the chargers? It doesn't make sense to me

HyperOS is great in everything except battery life but that isn't a problem anymore either. After updating to HyperOS 2, I already got an additional hour of SOT and with some tweaks including debloating I increased my SOT from 4hrs to 6hrs. It's really not that bad of a problem anymore. Update schedules could improve though, I was supposed to get HyperOS last month.

"Another important, but less well-known, aspect of the common charging directive is around the unification of fast charging. The EU’s goal being the simplification of this oft-confusing practice. The governing body defines fast charging as anything that can be recharged via a wire with “voltages higher than 5 volts, currents higher than 3 amperes, or powers higher than 15 watts.”
When devices hit this threshold, they must work with USB Power Delivery (USB PD), a charging protocol that enables devices to transfer power over USB in addition to data. While some devices, such as iPhones and the Google Pixel range have used this standard for some time, other handsets, such as OnePlus and OPPO, use the proprietary charging SUPERVOOC standard without also supporting USB PD."
So in the end there is no excuse to not use PD, especially since when USB Implementers Forum announced the 2.1 revision in 2021, goes up to 240 watts, but newer versions could go beyond it.

i've been using Xiaomi since 2020 and for all these years their UI changed very slightly, since MIUI 12 it still feels around the same, HyperOS is just rebranded MIUI. I've tried Realme with their RealmeUI (ColorOS variant) and it was much better smooth, nice looking and minimalistic.

Searched up the law:
"All new smartphones, tablets, cameras and other electronic gadgets marketed in the EU will have to come with a USB-C charging port by fall 2024. In addition, chargers can be unbundled from devices if a manufacturer wishes so, giving consumers the choice whether to buy a new charger with a device or keep using the old one."

I don't agree with review of hyperos as failure. If anything hyperos is a success and solid OS. Only part agreeable is Chinese and global version have substantial difference. Hyperos as an OS has some of the smoothest animations in android world. Also AI features are really helpful. Hyperos is behind no other android OS in realm of AI.

Ignoring US (carrier ads) and India, Samsung phones have rarely any ads at all, unless you hate Samsung apps and Google apps, I see people gete consider that and ad to protect their opinion about chinese brands.
Chinese brands like Xiaomi have ads, simple fact and that people are fine with them like I do (I debloated my Xiaomi 13) doesn't change that fact.
