5g capable socs arent that much expensive and will have newer cpu architecture unlike the mediatek gXX or snapdragon 685/6gen1 which will lead to better performance and better battery life

And you know what, these A76 and A78 shares the same ARMv8.2 IP. But with some digits increased of A78 from A78 in their pipeline. So you'll notice around 15% increase in single-core.
For me I'd rather go see someone built with A720/A725 cores in 2+6 CPU core config in late 2026.

403 Forbidden, 15 Dec 2024Funny, because I have never experienced 5G at all in my life.Thats also funny. I am from Slovakia and we have here a 5G network since 2018 or so.
It started in few district of Capitol city and nowdays its everywhere.

Except if they give us Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, Dimensity 7k series, Unisoc T8xx series or higher, I don't see any reason to put 5G chipset here. Most 5G chipset at this price point like Dimensity 6k series or 6s Gen 3 (rebranded 695) still has a performance that not-so-different compared to G99, while being more expensive because there's 5G which won't be usable in a country where 5G is basically non-existence.
But that doesn't rule out the fact that the Redmi Note Pro 4G is basically overpriced, as always (it's always overpriced imo since 11 series). At this price point, better just get the Poco X series.

I doubt the vendor choose g99 because "hey its 4g soc so is cheaper than d6080 or sd4sg2"

My question here is, why there aren't any device equipped with 6s Gen 3 4G-only version that has better A78 two-core (yes, there is a 4G-only of 6sG3) and insisting on using G99/G100 for 4G-only devices for more time?

lmao another g99. my last hope is c75 5g then. I know g99 is popular but A76 should retired from budget phone. A78 is bare minimum imho.

3 generations in a row with mediatek... yikes, looks like the Note 11 was the last good version of these, time to look elsewhere for real quality and support I guess.
