Anonymous, 17 Dec 2024https://www.anandtech.com/show/21485/the-amd-ryzen-ai-hx-37... more"Although this will not be the case for all games, we found a consistent advantage of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 over the previous Phoenix Point-based 7940HS."
This "consistent advantage" would be about 23% as reported in the comparison table of the different games tested (and not 57% as stated in the first part of the review).
In reality, however, that "consistent advantage" gets very thin in the considerations of those games that use a lot of cpu, as in the case of a Cyberpunk 2077. (about the famous 10%)
Thus, the bottleneck of only 4 Zen5 cores in the HX370 architecture is obvious.
Also, the review does not take into account the fact that a 7940HS, can run at 54W (And as an AMD itself reports on its page-spec: 35-54W) in those same notebooks (and as I said before, unlockable even up to 75W under normal conditions from the Bios settings), which suggests that the review was intentionally biased. (as is customary with that site and others on the net who have this habit lately).
In fact, for reviews that are as critical and objective as possible, I prefer Notebokcheck (CPU) Techpowerup (GPU) and Phoronix (Unix-Linux), as these are historic sites and staffed by reputable people who are specialists in their respective roles and not dependent on "sponsorship" from outside entities.
I used to read Anandtech happily until the early 2000s, when the (knowledgeable) staff at that time performed meticulous analysis and testing of motherboards and CPUs from various manufacturers.
It is too low a performance jump between generations, it is too high a cost between generations.
I repeat; if I HAVE to spend 1000 bags TODAY, I want a Cyberpunk 2077 that gives me 60fps average at High settings.
Otherwise, I prefer at a MUCH lower cost:
- Either a mini-PC with a 7940HS (or better performing Zen4 series architecture) that has the ability to be exploited to 100% of its potential (so a Cyberpunk that will get close to 50fps at Medium settings, or 30fps at High settings)
- or a SteamDeck, which despite having an inferior APU performance-wise, has on its side an OS optimization and a Cyberpunk 2077 with medium-high settings at stable 30fps. (On a 7" the human eye does not pervepect the difference between a 720p and a 1080p)
So, once again, a Valve CEO is RIGHT. (Nintendo Style Mentality?)

I'm just making it... morehttps://www.anandtech.com/show/21485/the-amd-ryzen-ai-hx-370-review/10
"A prime example of AMD making improvements in performance over the last generation with the new Zen 5/Zen 5c SoC is in Returnal at 1080p with the medium preset selected. It managed to outperform the Ryzen 9 7940HS by 57%. While this isn't going to be the case in every game, we did see a consistent advantage to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 over the previous Phoenix Point-based 7940HS."
Returnal on AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS: 22.4 fps
Returnal on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: 35.3 fps

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2024So it's clear that you like talking nonsense.Absolutely not "dude!"
I'm just making it clear to all the other readers of this site, how minds like yours have nothing to say and to counter in the presence of tangible evidence.
Buy one of these "toys" and live peacefully.
But do NOT be foolish and arrogant, thinking you are more "intelligent" than other minds.
You just look like mechanical neurons (slaves to themselves) who think they know, but really don't know.

ShadowJaiz, 17 Dec 2024Interesting GlassTECNO Pocket Go (Kickstarter) glasses, they are "cooler" :)
Such a device, practical and functional as a possible "LegionGo-PG" (Pocket Glass) for example, would give Lenovo the ability to differentiate itself from competitors. (And at a much lower cost)
So Practical and feasible innovation in this day and age from this point of view. (straight out of a Cyberpunk 2077)

"the time is NOT yet ripe for a great leap in technology" CEO Valve.

And with that, one understands NOW very well the sentence expressed by a Valve to the Hardware upgrade request for its SteamDeck;
"the nom time is yet ripe for a major technological leap"
Translated;
"the 'StrixPoint architecture costs too much for too little performance margin."
So, if I were a Lenovo, I would NOT waste my time on a castrated (and COSTLY than a StrixPoint) architecture like the Z2, but would prefer the previous (MUCH less expensive) architecture but using High-Top versions of those same architectures.
I would ONLY need to increase a battery capacity. (since there is another measly 3-5% difference between the power consumption of a Zen4 and a Zen5)!
Example? Acer Nitro Blade 7! (hoping they don't pull the same crap on the cost of a thousand bags).

Anonymous, 16 Dec 2024I suggest that you check gaming performance. The gaming per... moreI suggest looking at the hundreds of game tests that can be found on youtube.
These are people comparing different architectures through the geometric complexity and physics of the games.
I can also suggest two of the most complex games that are capable of frustrating AMD APUs.
To simplify, I can also add to display the performance at 30W for both architectures.
- Cyberpunk 2077- Zen 4 - 38fps
- Cyberpunk 2077- Zen 5 - 42fps
- The Wintcher 3 - Zen4 (7940HS), Zen5(HX370) about the same fps - 30-31fps
Other VERY IMPORTANT thing for professional gamers; the percentile (the stability at minimum frames in games).
This gives an idea of how different architectures behave, the difference that passes between a balanced workload between ALL equal cores of an architecture and a hybrid architecture (where the "efficiency" cores are NOT developed for demanding workloads)
If the 'intent of "agents" like you, is to "instill" a false perception in the minds of others, then I can tell you that a MISERABLE 10% increase (in GPU), i.e., a handful of fps, do not generate in my mind the famous chain of words "it is much more performant", simply because it is NOT true!
Your "triple jackknife flights" have no impact, simply because the REALITY of the nature of things, acts differently from your numerical calculations.
And your numerical calculations (a miserable 10%) cost 1,000 bags.

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2024You don't know what you're talking about. The AMD... moreNotebookcheck;
- AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370
The graphs you will need to look at and analyze carefully are specifically:
- 3DMark Vantage - 3DM Vant. Perf. CPU no Physx
- 3DMark 11 - 3DM11 Performance Physics
- 3DMark - 3DMark Cloud Gate Physics
- 3DMark - 3DMark Fire Strike Standard Physics
- 3DMark - 3DMark Time Spy CPU
- CrossMark - CrossMark Overall
Obviously, I chose this type of benchmark (from the most complete set) because it deals with the complexity of CPU-side calculations. (Obviously, keeping out the 'purely rendering aspect, i.e., the GPU.)
You will be surprised to read and analyze those various and any entries.
Also, I point out that almost all the hardware tested, are Notebooks. (thus without the neutered 28W TDP of the so-called "portable consoles")
It is natural then, that a REAL 8 Core Zen 4 CPU, becomes very performant above 50W in Turbo Mode (the 7940HS can push up to 75W in Turbo Mode and up to 100W in Overclock). Which unfortunately, is not feasible for the "little plastic boxes with triggers stuck at 28W" and for obvious reasons of overheating and global power consumption.
This finally makes one understand another thing;
-the theoretical perception of how much one is going to spend on a hardware and the real perception of that hardware put "on the road."
Thus, the difference between a crappy slide (which almost NEVER reflects the real performance of a product) and real everyday use.

AnonD-1184001, 15 Dec 2024We live in democratic systems, so quantity against quality ... moreYes, we live in a fake democracy (which I personally like to call Demon-cracy), where the old perception of "stronger=cooler" prevails.
Quality, art and technique, by necessity, are demonized because of numbers (thus quantity).
If you want to tell me that MS is "demonocratic" in this sense, then I agree with you.
Because it is the worst that such kind of millenarian mentality can come up with to stay in place.
In fact, such mentalities are based only on the mechanism of numbers, numbers that well represent the rigidity and ossification of these "entities."
And the numbers in this "Demon-cracy" who are they?
Obviously the people "possessed by these entities," that is, products of global merchandise. (hardware and software)
As long as this kind of mentality prevails, quality, technique and the art of making will remain confined to numbers alone. (corruption)
The art of imagining, creating and innovating will be the preserve of the few. (evolution)
Just look at the titles of today's games, an imitation of a reality that does not belong to the world of 'imagination (the so-called obsession with photorealism and imposed and self-imposed "ideologies"), but which in fact represents much of today's society and the "entities" that operate in it. (the soulless)
So, soulless games. (And like those mentioned by you, as well as the pitiful "remastered-remakes")

CreativeMinds, 15 Dec 2024@AnonD-1183954, Between us (True Experienced Gamers and ... moreWe live in democratic systems, so quantity against quality will always have an advantage, first of it has to have a global selling point. Second it needs to have compatibility, And microsoft has nailed for the purpose They are coming up with an android store (ditching the OS). Apple is monetising the situation with their store as EU forced them to allowing 3rd party purchase, As such their is only one game that runs on all platforms and it's Asphalt (crossplay), COD by Activision is second with ios/droid/MS comitablity, their are others but some are banned in some regions as they so even if they have the number of players comitablity wise they simply missed the train. Now when I don't want to indulge Xbox Vs PS, and the third truth is monopoly, and it's unavoidable as a common ground has to be made. Where no one can compete with MS/their vendors.

@AnonD-1183954,
Between us (True Experienced Gamers and Aware Hardware Veterans), we can also enjoy many games from our favorite Software library (but also and older and more glorious gems like a Genji, a Soul Calibur 3, A Zone of the Enders 2, an Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, a Dragon's Crown, a Murasama Rebirth, even a Street of Rage Remake!) Conveniently from our Android devices :)
Lately, I am personally having a lot of fun with a Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round 50' anniversary (Mai Shiranui; - YUP!!) and my wireless xbox controller in BT connection (external peripheral I had already acquired to enjoy "console" style games, even for my Desktop) with my smartphone :)

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2024Can't use your desktop PC on the train though ^^You are right about the portability on the train.
But that "portability" will cost you 800 to 1,600 bags today, which translated into all the economic exchange rates in the world, is many, too many, hard many.
To my children, I would suggest they go hoe the earth to understand the value and concreteness of things.
A Gameboy, a GameGear, did not cost "1,000 bags."
Here they want to sell you a "console" for the price of a PC. (As in the attempt of a Sony with the "justification" of "more powerful gpu")
I don't know if you get the 'idea of this yet another marketing lie.
ALL portable "PCs" like this, should NOT cost more than 500 bags to be desirable
The rest is just pure cognitive, perceptual and psychological deception to sell you even a potato at a premium cost.
