What none of these reviews tell you is that the glass top is just a normal 2.5D glass and will get scratched easily.
I was previously using Amazfit GTS which has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 top. And 4 years of rough use it barely had any visible scratches, it was on my wrist 24/7 even at night for sleep tracking. Only times I would take it of was while taking a bath or for charging it.
I switched to the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro 9 days ago and today it has gotten a huge scratch on it's glass and I don't even know how I got it because I have been using it carefully as it's a new gadget for me.
Band 9 Pro is a great fitness tracker for it's precious, just apply a screen protector as soon as you guys buy it.

About the screen not reactive at all with sweaty hand, you ever heard of hydrogel protector? I put one on my Band 8 Pro and it dramatically improved the touch response, not that it was as bad as you claimed to begin with. I just put it on to protect against scratches.

I've got Xiaomi 9 about 30eur, bottom of range.
Here's real world experience.
Looks ok.
Can download app from Google play. I don't install mkv on my phone.
Distance measured without GPS about 30% out. Even setting personal parameters in app, doesn't improve it, so very poor.
Screen doesn't work if fingers even a little bit sweaty.
The run workout screen doesn't include time of day. So forget about this watch if you want to run "till 9am". You need to stop run, wait till run summary completes before you can see the time.
For people that just talk about sports watches : 3 /5
For people who actually do sport : 1/5

GeeX, 30 Dec 2024Not worth for the money you spend on this. Maybe 50$ ok.Its usually worth it to wait for price drop after a few months from launch. Got my Mi Band Pro for $40 new (MSRP $75) 3 months after launch and got my daughter a Fit 3 for $30 new just last month.

I have this band and so far it is great. I got it for 60e, so the difference was not as huge. I wanted the non pro version originally, and i was not even interested in gps, but gone for this one because of the look. And i am glad i did. Wider display shows more informations, the whole user experience is much better, everything is much better organised.
What i would change is adding the side button and make the band already built with lugs (just like the ones coming with leather band) like normal watch. So you can change the strap for any strap. Now if you buy the leather strap, your strap is attached using four mechanisms which does not give to much confidence.

No NFC, no buy. We can have dozens similar bands from previous years for similar price. NFC payments... That is what would make this band stand out.
The whole band market is pretty stale and boring though. Three or four Huawei bands back for example and it is pretty much still the same band.

The encryption key is burned at the factory and can't be changed. If they are using a similar mechanism, it is almost impossible to unlock the bootloader or load alternative firmware.
If you don't trust them, don't buy them. Trying to unlock is a waste of time.

All watches with WearOS have poor battery life because WearOS is constantly running in the background draining away battery. And WearOS would only increase their prices. Even the Samsung Fit 3 not having WearOS to keep price acceptable.

Their entire purpose is to be less smart than a smart watch in exchange for lower costs aswell as longer battery life. I had smart bands and now have a Smartwatch and I like both for different reasons. Wear OS is nice, but the battery life can get really annoying.
