For the people saying that this is useless for recording 4K, it's not entirely useless. Yes, many of us aren't going to have 4K TV and therefore won't see the benefit. But, if people wanted to do some video editing, and wanted to zoom into parts of the video (or panning, whatever), they can without great detail being lost. Exactly the same how pictures work. So viewing this video that's been zoomed in on an HDTV will still look spectacular.

Who needs 4k videos for a phone? Why not 3D glasses and wall support? They better make a long lasting battery or better camera for photos or introducing slow motion recording capacity for example. Another useless feature.

Whether it's for the phone or Bravia slide presentation, Sony is just doing innovation.

I don't see why people bash on the small sensor size of this phone for 4K recording. Did everyone forgot about Sony DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100?

4K recording is just another feature of the phone that everyone(video enthusiasts) can use. Of course there will be an option to turn this feature on/off so why worry much?

well this would mean that this device needs at least 64 GB internal storage and expandable memory
                                or maybe 128 GB storage

if it gets 128 GB storage, i guess users may just record videos at 1080p and enjoy the ginormous storage

Im sure there will be an option to change the resolution of it. Its for those who WANTS to record in 4K. Who knows? This could probably replace your 4K camera that you will spend thousands of dollars on

Useless feature. 4K won't be the standard for another 2 years at least. This is just a marketing tool used to raise up the price. It would do just as fine with 1080p video recording and playback.

For the record, if this comes to Tmobile US, I will be switching off my GS4 and buying a Honami. I love Carl Zeiss Optics and then it will have Cybershot Tech as well as Dual LED and Xenon. So yeah, I will be switching to the Honami just for the Carl Zeiss optics.
