Bodygard, 29 Dec 2024Who's buying this (In EU or US)? I don't have fam... moreI would buy it. In fact, Honor is likely my #1 Chinese brand I want in the US (can't totally rule out VIVO or IQQO)

Soon or later the conflict between Russia dn Ukraine escalates even more same goes for US vs Huawei or Chinese and more and more lto better devices will be exclusive for chinese or asian region only and we will be left with horrible priced, slow laggy and mostly useles especially on gaming side options like Google or Apple.
No thanks.
Phones with below average specs for a flagship price with a charging speeds from dar age era have no place and space in my heart and pockets.
Lastly Chinese phones are the only one who still try to innovate while others like said Apple, Samsung or Google still put billions into advertising to sell previos generations of devices with just improved CPU and GPU and new number in name othervise is all the same thing.
No thanks.
Not interested at all.

Honor made a mistake giving many jobs to crappy executives in international market. Instead of advancing the company, they were attempting to pretend to sponsor multimedia, fashion, events etc. Having fun at the expense of marketing money. Now they will pay for such stupidity. Their results in Europe are below abysmall.

Who's buying this (In EU or US)? I don't have family, friends or acquaintances that ever had an Honor device and majority don't even know the brand haha
Most know Apple, Samsung, Sony, Nokia, Xiaomi, HTC, Motorola and that's it.

YUKI93, 29 Dec 2024I can't fathom this obsession of "must" havi... moreCurrently using a Ticwatch Pro 5 enduro. I get three days worth of battery on it. I believe OnePlus also has a three-day watch with their latest flagship.
Competition is there. Samsung and Pixel need to wake up with their terrible battery watches.

Can you easily unlock bootloader on honor devices?
Does honor offer their stock firmware for download from their official servers?
Only then is honor good for mobile development.
Xiaomi does all this and more. If honor not follow suit then I will stick to my xiaomi development machine.

Honor's V3 is a mixed bag. Good hardware that's innovative but feels more like a prototype than an actually great phone. The battery isn't great despite its size, the screen isn't particularly bright and the cameras are just painfully mediocre. Not to mention the flimsy looking hinge that doesn't naturally open the phone flat (watch TechTablet's Mate X6 review he mentioned it).
Honor are just playing the numbers game, which although great, should only be reserved for prototypes or special editions. If they're gonna make a serious jab in the market it needs to be polished, take the Huawei Mate X6 for instance, yeah it's not the lightest nor the thinnest but it looks so polished and the cameras are genuinely great.
The Magic6 Pro tho.... yucky that pill shaped notch makes me never want to buy any Honor product ever. This should only be used in cheap-midrange phones. Who really cares about face unlock anyway? Just a very icky thing on an Android. Do something original like the Mate 60 Pro, with separate holes that you can fill in later. Looks more original. And they can just put a "fill in bezel" setting in the software, problem solved. Anyways apart from that, Honor's software support is an icky thing and even if you ignore that, their cameras aren't really the best or even that great. However where I live it's as cheap as a Oneplus 12 and for this price, it's an excellent offer and the camera deficiencies don't matter at all when compared to something terrible like the S24+. The Honor demolishes that phone easily.

Honor is generally loser internationally. Despite them being the Huawei with official Google support, they don't seem to try to reach as many markets as possible. And I wish they would expand IP68/69 to other models, not just the top end flagship ones. Come on, Samsung and Vivo can do IP67/68 on their mid-range.

Honor has alot of winners (in china) but still it's a good phone manufacturer and magic OS is a good android skin still better than Xiaomi's hyperOS

Let's hope they not only release more devices internationally (including the Magic7 Pro) but that they also sort out some of the quirks in their software. I feel that Honor has its share for the taking, if they just were more willing to act on it.

YUKI93, 29 Dec 2024I can't fathom this obsession of "must" havi... more2 days is good enough for a proper smartwatch. After all, you have to shower occasionally, which you can use for charging. If you want better battery life there are options, but they tend to come at a cost.

I can't fathom this obsession of "must" having WearOS on smartwatches. I tested a lot of WearOS smartwatches, and the battery life from all of them is an absolute joke. Even Samsung is no exception as I never get beyond 2 days of battery use from my old Galaxy Watch 5. It's so bad that I sold it and downgraded it to a Galaxy Watch 3 with Tizen OS. Frankly, I should have owned the latter in the first place. Heck, I would even consider an Amazfit smartwatch for a crazy long battery life.
