Xiaomi must have horted a bunch of them during the past 4+ years.

Vivo X200 Pro does have a 200 MP 1/1.4 Sensor size periscope camera, and fine Zeiss optics with the famous T* (T-Star) antireflective multicoatings, just like every DSLR lens since the 70s from Zeiss. And i thought, the X100 Ultra before, too. So it's technically nothing new - either the 200 MP or the 1/1.4" Telephoto Sensor, go figure. :-)

useless if it'll come in europe with a high price

No phone got even close to 150 or something.

I mean, the telephoto is the most used after all. The ultra wide is so seldom used that they have to put a crappy 8MP module in some phones. LOL!

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2024And ultrawide?Same ultrawide as the magic 7 pro. Most Chinese manufacturers are putting less effort into the ultrawide. Chinese companies have monitored camera usage in China and found the ultrawide to be by far the least used sensor on the phone (at least I read a report on that before in China). Therefore, they are not paying great attention to it. In days gone by there were a few phones with 1/1.55" or 1/1.56". Personally don't mind that as I hardly ever use the ultrawide. The wide angle lenses are already quite wide at 23mm or 24mm on most phones. I liked the Nubia Z60 ultra combination with a 35mm main lens and 18mm ultrawide of almost equivalent quality

If that's true, then the effective lens diameter of the periscope camera should be roughly 9.7mm (if the field of view of the periscope camera is 69mm), larger than the effective diameter of any smartphone camera. The periscope camera of the Vivo X100 Ultra has 8.42mm, the travel camera Panasonic Tz99 has 20mm.

The larger the effective lens diameter
-the more light per exposure time is captured from a certain detail
-the better the maximum theoretical resolution of the lens regarding distant objects due to diffraction
                                  -the larger the bokeh balls

                                    And ultrawide?

Eduard33, 20 Dec 2024F/1.2 main and F/1.88 periscope DAMN. Excited to see how it... moreIndeed! That will set the main camera and periscope modules at the equivalent full-frame apertures of f/4.4 for the main and f/7.1 for the 3x periscope modules.

The main camera in this regard, despite the smaller sensor, manages to actually capture almost as much light as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, while the periscope will be effectively unopposed for now, as 3x modules are at f/10 equivalent aperture at best.
