*unlikely to arrive ever.
This has been one of those stupid memed "leaks" for a decade now. And if it even is real, that just means that Apple is copying the Galaxy S6 Edge. Personally, I would prefer if Apple copies Google copying LG's camera bar.

Narazumono, 15 hours agoYes, the S24 uses an illusion trick where they made the bez... moreThat's not how it works. The bezel got thicker because they removed the curved screen on the Ultra. Hence why they are working on reducing that footprint again, and why they make the new Ultra completely flat on the sides

What's the advantage of bezelless screen to a screen with 0.5mm (or 1mm) bezels?
Btw, as others mentioned, Apple should focus on reducing the size of their camera pill.
I'd rather have bezels and no camera notch/hole.

hhhh, good one. Bazel-less phone and from Apple? Seems that we are in 2035 :D.
100% not possible for Apple to do it and even they can do it but they will never do it as Apple always late.
Bazel-less phone will come from Chinese companies first and then Samsung or vice-versa.

xPandamon, 25 Dec 2024We have a tool on this very website to compare phones in 3D... moreYes, the S24 uses an illusion trick where they made the bezels smaller but in turn made the frame thicker. Samsung knows their customers well, they know people will be too focused on the bezels to notice the frame got thicker to make up for the smaller bezels
Samsung needs to pull their $hit together with the S25

The phone vendor closest to releasing a bezel-less phone with under-display camera is ZTE.

I (and many others) don't give a damn about bezels.
Who is stupid enough to care about few millimeters of plastics around a display?
I just want a phone with no stupid hole or expensive gimmick underdisplay camera, nor missing features while paying a premium.
Having a phone you can barelly grab without the tactile fricking out is stupid, but if you want it, go on, just know that if by some miracles this thing one day get released, you'll probably hate it anyway, if you can even afford it that is.
I wish there were more options for moderns high performances smartphones with either bezels or equivalent.
I haven't find any worthy replacement for my Poco F2 Pro with its pop-up selfie camera.
Sony phones are the only alternative but sadly they are way too expensive.
Few years ago, everybody badmouthed mechanical front cameras with arguments that ended up being totally wrong in every single aspects (while now stupidly fanboying in front of foldable smartphones, as if a selfie camera not working was as dramatic as, you know, a phone breaking in half), and praised underdisplay camera B.S as it if was the hole grail and would be on every phones.
Which ended up being rare, useless and costly for nothing except funding the perfect mass surveillance tech that will not even benefit the users, as it, exactly like the pop up cameras, will phase out anyway.
Good jobs for brainless hating things, markets analysts did listen and made it so all phones are the exact sames, and concepts like this zero bezels are only commercial stunt to keep the idiocracy that is the smartphone community having interest in their products, and will NEVER be released (remember the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha?).
The smartphone community is the only community I ever saw who do wish a feature that could just exist in a handful of smartphones every years, just because for personal preferences they don't like it, to actually stop existing.
As if they needed every single smartphones to match their own tastes and anything else was perfect blasphemy.
In the end, this community deserve, from those behaviors, to have no diversity what so ever and only false promises and other eye candies that never become reality.
My "prone to failure" popup selfie camera still works as day one on my Poco F2 Pro despites years, phone bought used, no maintenance/repair/replacement, and use with face recognition unlock multiple times per weeks for years.
Merry Christmas and may you one day learn that you don't need every single smartphones on the markets to matches your own tastes and having some who comes with techs you'd personally don't want isn't ground for fighting as if it was humanity's greatest enemy, or, just being a normal adult.

LTRace, 25 Dec 2024LG displays?? LG coming back in 2026 confirmed? That would ... moreThey won't. They just sell electronic parts like smartphone displays to other manufacturers. They are even viewed lowly on their own soil when I used to live there. It's a boring AppleSung country and you have to import stuff if you're not a fan of the Big Three makers

"Apple apparently wants to keep a flat screen but have it angled into the sides....."
So basically a curve screen, LOL! Like the Oneplus 7T Pro from 2019, or from Samsung of the past. Apple is kinda late, or just flat out copying now, lol, like what they did with the camera button from Sony Xperia.

We already have pretty much bazelless screens. that 1mm that is left of it in the edges dont really matter anyways. Apple problem is the large pill or notch as a gigant hole in the screen
