Narazumono, 27 Dec 2024Nobody keeps their phone for that long anyway
Only people ... moreThat's bad assumption.
The last 3yrs has shownmany brands havent improved in design choices much - Samsung especially, beyond S21's camera island bump being on on the S23.
Chipset and Camera choices is the latest in 2024 to have major changes - at least in Chinese only variants but many models are going internarional so youll see huge purchases in 2025 migrating manufacturers for sales jumps.
For me having the S23 in late 2023, the S24 didnt offer much - SoC barely increased in overall performance, RAM and cameras no change and i got OS update with ALL features the S24 did. S25 isnt lookingany different beyond the SoC.
Illbeseitching brands most likelythis year but the deciding factors for mw will be:
SoC must be the 8 Elite,
OS design, 1st party applications and UI / UX,
and Audio Codec support is also going to be crittical as my mind has opened upregarding TWS options.
Being stuck toanecosystem has severe drawbacks.
I almost bought the OnePlus Open but that old SoC was hurting it. The rounded edges and rear design has me shunning the Open 2, and unsure how simular in design as the Find N5 will be.
X8 flat glass I love but NOT the 9400 SoC - again the audio codec support is killing me. I grew up with the Sony Walkman 3rd generation from Japan released before the USA 2ND generation arrived and was rocking it on 1hr+ rides to school.
After SonyEricsson Ive always used my phone for music [ipod nanos for the gym for 1yr], so earphones are crucial for me cant stand loud mouth breathers and loud munchers or mouth clapping loud shouters in public [its like Mars attack aliaems on 200% volume to me ears lol even english speakers its amyone]
The next few years OS UI, SoCs and design is going to heavily affect a LOT of buyers after 2025 trust me on this. Having money will not be a deciding factor for many.
You have heard of HUPs and subsidy's from carriers havent you? ;)

Looking good but the inner bezel can go. What phones have bezels unless they are cheapo. Really looking forward to this phone. I literally held off on tbe one to see if two would be better. The battery bump i love however. That big inside screen needs a big battery to power it.

Only people ... moreOf course nobody use their old chinese phone after 3-4 year, because they have low quality and old android version.
I still see people still use their 6 year old samsung/ iPhone.
Good news is, only minuscule people buy chinese flagship including OnePlus, and i am happy about it.

Its bringing the right tech ... but that inner folding screen bezel isn't looking too good. Heck even the Pixel got rid of theirs this 2024 year. Oppo surely can do better.
Rounded external backplate .... meh. Gotta see the final product and hold in hand then I'll heavily consider purchasing but still unsure about foldables as a primary device.

But, it's 10mm! That's still far too thick! Good gracious. It's even thicker than the Mate X6. How in the world are you going to use it? How will you carry it? It has to be 9.2mm minimum because that's what the V3 is. Right?
I'm just simply going by the logic of the spec chasers in this forum. Best specs or bust. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks really good to me and perhaps even better than the Find X8 Pro but I just don't know what it is but I loved the Open's design, it just felt a bit bolder. Welp at least they didn't "ruin" the design haha it's just that it looks really generic now. Hope the specs will make any design icks irrelevant.

Disappointed that it has a downgraded camera setup. I get that they're going for the thin and light design but would have preferred better specs

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2024No 7 OS upgrades = no buy.Nobody keeps their phone for that long anyway
Only people who benefit from 7 years of updates are poor people who can't afford to buy new phones so they buy 5 year old used flagships (they break after a year lmao)
