This is not an innovation Samsung. Not even significant improvement. Not upgrading this year again. So little upgrade for the huge pricing.

Anonymous, 29 Dec 2024So what you're saying is... they partially screwed the... moreliterally takes a minute or 2 it's such a none issue, also on s24 u been able to use while the updates are being downloaded then just restart to install which yeah is literally just couple of mins and updates come every few months and you can do it before you go to bed, not that serious that u can't find the time or spare a few minutes lol

Meh I hated that feature on my Pixel.
Updates felt sloooooow
If rather stop using my phone for 5 minutes while it updates rather than an update taking an entire day to download and install.

This will reduce the anxiety during updates. My Tab A failed an update before and even though it gives an option to enter "safe boot" where I can backup data before retrying the update, I used the dual user feature so the data under the other user still lost.
Now its time for Android to enable core updates only, regardless of what skin added by manufacturers. Or at least let users to install security updates only regardless of the Android version.

While Chinese companies push for bigger batteries and faster charging Samsung pushes for useless features 🤣

they should keep their traditional update support, you can look up on Reddit and alot are complaining that their A55 is getting their software updates late compared to other galaxy phones that is monthly updated

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2024S24 Ultra looks way better than whatever this is.Buddy, it's the same phone. The S ultra and the iPhone didn't get any substantially different in almost 5 years now

Having used Pixel phones previously, sure, it's less screen off installing, whilst installing, but the actual "install" takes a lot longer, because it's utilizing less processing power, due to it performing in background. It's just slightly more convenient for an average user, for users who install updates deliberately it takes longer.

Cool, so screen junkies will survive panic attack with less time without screen.

DarlingYork, 29 Dec 2024This is a good quality of life 🫣😱🫡Not quite, as long as they could do that, they might stopped supporting it like the headphone jack.
I wish time expiry doesn't exist.

Better late than never....
The idea of A/B upgrade is really good, as if anything goes wrong, then until a very late stage, it will be possible to revert to the old version.
So the seamless part is especially nice if it has troubles doing the install, as any retries, and even fixed versions of the upgrade from the manufacturer can happen without pestering the user, except the device being sluggish and battery eating while it tries it.
