60Hz (even 90) and 128GB should not be a thing anymore on even mid rangers.
I love it when technology still breaks through despite companies trying to hold it back as much as possible.
Component manufacturers push. They update their equipment, discontinued older parts, so phone makers have to use newer parts eventually.

Fun facts: Android system animations are at 60fps (can change only in games)... and ProMotion Technology is not only a "marketing name".
The ProMotion technology on iPhone Pro features several characteristics:
Variable refresh rate: the refresh rate can vary from 10Hz to 120Hz based on the needs of the application or the content being displayed, even inside the system not only on the always on display.
Higher frame rate: animations can be displayed at a rate of 120fps, which can contribute to a sense of fluidity and faster response.
Reduced power consumption: ProMotion technology can adjust the refresh rate to reduce power consumption when a high frame rate is not necessary.
Improved content display: ProMotion technology can improve the display of content, such as videos, games, and applications, thanks to the higher refresh rate and reduced response time.
In general, ProMotion technology is designed to offer a more fluid and responsive viewing experience on iPhone Pro.
Having a framerate different from the refresh rate means:
Imperfect interpolation: creating intermediate frames may not always be perfect, and this can cause a "blurring" or "mosaic" effect in the animation.
Synchronization issues: if the 60fps animation is not synchronized correctly with the 120Hz refresh rate, this can cause synchronization issues, such as a "scrolling" or "shifting" effect in the animation.
Power consumption: interpolating intermediate frames can require more power, which can reduce the battery life of the device.

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2024Still will get hate no matter what . Could be $200 and peop... moreCope with the fact that you keep buying 🗑️ hardware for 800$. Like anyone who's here bashing Apple is because of hate and not reason. You really trying to convince yourself that if Apple released that phone for 200$, 95% of the bashers would not buy it.
Be real to yourself, and admit that the bashers are only mad because Apple is making the competition soft. If Apple made that move, everybody would suddenly be praising them, and you're coping if you claim they wouldn't

Like the S24 is a serious phone with no compromises, not a phone built to make customers think that they should really spend 1500$ on a phone.

rizki1, 30 Dec 2024Finally the expensive features from $100 Android come to th... moreDidn’t know $100 android phones now come with 120Hz LTPO 2000nit OLED displays with factory calibration, no bottom bezel and more than 1080p resolution. Not to mention the high end chip with Snapdragon X75 modem, the glass and aluminum body, the ultrawide autofocus camera, the linear actor vibration motor, the IP68 water resistance, the 4K60fps video recording, all the sensors including barometer, Ultrawideband and satellite connectivity as well as Qi2 wireless charging. Because last time I checked, $100 android phones came with 120Hz 720p LCDs with 540nit brightness and a bigger bottom bezel, a Helio G80-100 and if your lucky UFS 2.1 from years ago and if not eMMC 5.1, a plastic frame and maybe a glass back but only sometimes and other times a st*pid faux leather plastic back which will get sticky when it ages, at most 8MP ultrawide and if no 2MP macro + 2 MP depth, no info on the vibration motor, maybe IP54, 1080p30fps video recording or if they are nice enough 1080p60fps video recording to match the video recording capabilities of the iPhone 6, a real proximity sensor when it’s a good phone and no wireless charging anywhere to be seen. Well I‘m happy that $100 have improved so much since then and rectified all their shortcomings.

DarlingYext, 30 Dec 2024I highly doubt that. You doubt so many things nowadays.
I'm trusting the timeline that DSCC made in April of last year. They managed to get right the pill arriving to the vanilla series with the 15, and the 16 series basically staying the same in terms of display.
Now that I think about it, that timeline does say that under-display Face ID will debut next year...
