While the ... moreAs about people have bad opinion about android, i have two cases in my friends, family and known people circles that were/are not ok with their android devices, and we are not talking about a very unknown brand hmd became.
One of them already switched to iphlone, the other will probably do it at some point in his life.
The one that switched started with HTC then switched to samsung and used samsung flagships for years, yes flagships. Not long ago, about 2 years, he switched to drapple, and me, not quite a fan of apple asked him why would he do such a "blasphemy", he said, "well android never works as expected, i always had problems with it not working when it suppose to do so, so i got tired of it, the iphone never caused me any problem". While i doubt that his iphone "just works" without any issues i definetly can't convince him to switch back.
The second guy, had some samsungs, then switched to iphone twice for short periods of tiime, then switched back to androiid now holding an Samsung s23. But now, he is still not satisfied with the usage and complains a lot, i presume it will eventually cause him to switch again.
So i'm pretty sure that not a 50€ device is to blame for people switching to apple, but actually, the quite expensive devices that still lack stability are to be blamed for some people hating on android. Or cause others to consider it inferior to iOS, even tough they use a device with android OS.
All i had to say to both was buy a proper android like pixel or nokia or whatever other that is not bloatware infested and you might see a difference. The one that already switched is definetly "unsaveable" but maybe the other one is.
The point here is, people consider samsung as "the android device" and mostly buy samsung, and if there is anyone hating on android or switching to apples phone, are mostly android flagship users, with devices that are bloatwaee infested, and not some random 60 euros device.

While the ... moreYoup you are right, but i think this devices (android one in general) are more adressing the youth, like 5 to 15 year olds that trash devices on daily basis. Well, at least i presume so. What is clear, when one has kids, starts to understamd the existance of this kind of devices, my kid is too small for a phone in general, but i hope that this type of devices will still exists when he big enough to go to school. A device to make calls and write on telegram, and track his movements would be enough and i would'nt pay anymore then 70 euros for one. So yeah, something like this, might actually come in handy for this type of usage, for anything else i hope that people are smart enough to know that a 60 euro device is not enough to be a daily driver.

Now this is something that shouldn't exist. While the apps we use have become RAM and Storage hogs and quite unreasonably so, 2 GB RAM is just...idk, evil?
This is exactly why so many people have poor opinion of Android phones, despite there being no iPhone at this price you just cannot buy an iPhone with such atrocities and that simply translates to better user experience. Someone who isn't interested or knows about what bare minimum specs would provide a good user experience would buy this on "price is king" basis and then immediately start hating Android.
HMD makes on one hand the most repair friendly and thereby eco friendly device like Skyline and on the other they make these.
I don't care how light Android One claims to be 6 GB RAM and atleast 750 Single core and 2000 multicore Geekbench 6 score equivalent performance should be a bare minimum.
That is really not asking for much and even poor people deserve a consistent reliable user experience.

xPandamon, 04 Jan 2025They had acceptable devices, but none that really stood out... moreWell, they mostly gave up flagships and doing wierd stuff after nokia 9 fiasco. They shifted businesses to a more friendly zone for them: usefull midrangers with no gimmicks. They also decided to not compete with chinese brands.
While you are right, their devices have nothing like let's say: nothing phone transparent design or the gimmick LEDs, but they are good and attention to details in design is quite impressive. Of course i am not neccesserly talking about this cheap devices. Anyway, i do not get why everyone wants only fhlagships, i can picture this thing in the hands of children, parents that buy their children iphones...well are m...s.
