I got this phone because of the S-Pen and Samsung Pay, also because the integration with my stuff is good. I bought the Buds 3 Pro and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. It would make no sense to switch if they all don't survive more than a few years with me. Besides, I got a new job so my heavy usage is toned down a lot now, giving it a better chance of surviving long, where the update promise shines. On top of that Samsung gives me good trade-in value for the future, which others don't have or only partially have. Google would've given me 250€, while Samsung would give me 600€. For now, I stay with it them. In the future, who knows?

Not me but YOU are saying that Samsung is essentially the same as the rest so there's no point in going with Samsung cus of their reliability and long term updates cus the phone is gonna be bad in a few years and you're going to have to switch.

NONE survived longer than 2 years and yes, they were all made by different manufacturers. I was happiest with my Sony Compacts, but the wifi on them was often dropping the connection which was annoying. Got the Xperia 10, which had speaker issues aswell as issues with many apps not working well on the at that time unusual aspect ratio. Would like to go back to Sony, but they are just way too expensive

lmao replacing a 2 year old phone and glazing the software updates. That's hilarious man. Bad battery drain on an S23U... lmaoo and you're still riding Samsung like damn man. We're reaching Copium levels not thought possible before

The S24 Ultra has issues, that's for sure, I just don't think Samsung is really to blame for them. It is a new type of coating and that can't handle the amount of people using stuff like hand sanitizer and windows cleaning products well ^^'
I'm about to replace my S23 Ultra because of really bad mobile drain, even without 5G, the modem may be broken and because of battery issues in general. Besides the oleophobic coating being partially destroyed and a few scratches since I do not use screen protectors, the display is totally fine. I know people that are on their S24 Ultra 24/7, mostly for work, and their phone screens look brand new. That's why I think improper treatment is the issue, really

But still, the fact of the matter is that the S24 Ultra suffers from it worse than everyone else. The things i've seen look far worse than what even my s22 ultra goes through. Even in the same situations the older phones/other phones perform better. So even if the consumer is treating it poorly, the phone is just more fragile/has more cons. You just have to accept that.

jiyen235, 08 Jan 2025where exactly are people recommending water? can you link s... moreYou can use cleaning solutions, but those are specifically made for displays. I have one of those too, which is 99% water. Other than that, IPA is used but only when needed. Generally, water is preferred (and if you google as to how to clean displays properly, pretty much every manufacturer tells you, too). The general consensus is: Only use more aggressive cleaners on actual glass and only if it is a screen that has glossy, not matte. If there is any kind of coating, water and a microfiber cloth are the way to go. To be fair most people use cleaners too often, even for things like pans and pots. You'd be surprised by how often people use that stuff when water is more than enough, ultimately ruining the anti-stick coating in the long run.

Alcohol or cleaning solutions are only used if neccesary, so as the exception, not as a daily solution. No wonder people keep ruining their screens when some people actually act like that's what experts say..

Everyone talk about how great the S24ultra is and almost no one mentions its useless for watching HDR content. I pre ordered the S24 ultra and i regret my decision. Streaming any HDR content on the s24 ultra is a nightmare. The adaptive HDR brightness really makes netflix unusable.
