I really thought via TaoBao you can buy only the unbranded products whuich will vary with quality but i am sure a samsung phone bought via samsung store, alliexpress or TaoBao will be the exactly same samsung everywhere. Same can be said about other well known brands like Motorola, Dell, Delonghi, Dyson etc.

Cpt.Power, 09 Jan 2025Well every day one learn something new. This i did not know... moreI'm in China and I use taobao and jingdong the whole time. I don't think Taobao is necessarily poor quality. On taobao, you have a mix of suppliers. You can either buy directly from official stores or you can buy from private sellers. All major local and global brands have their own official stores on taobao (tmall) and if you buy directly from them it is the same as if you bought from their own website. For example, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, Dell etc. have official stores on taobao and you can buy from them directly and get the same guarantee and service as if you bought from their official website. I've bought loads of stuff on taobao from official brand stores e.g. phones (xiaomi and motorola), Fridge freezers (Siemens), air purifiers (Xiaomi), coffee machines (De Longhi). There is no difference in quality than if you bought directly from their own online website or offline stores as they are exactly the same products. In fact when buying new phones I always buy online on taobao or jingdong as you can return the phone for no reason within 7 days if you don't like it whereas if you buy offline you can't return it once opened unless there is a fault and to prove that you have to go to an official brand service centre. I learnt my leeson with the Xiaomi 10s which I bought in a Xiaomi store offline. It had a faulty camera lens which resulted in a signifcant amount of blur on the side of photos. I couldn't return it though without getting a certification from a Xiaomi service centre which was a major pain in the ..... The service centre said it was normal but eventually after arguing for about a half an hour I asked them to compare with another 10s and when they did they eventually had to accept it was faulty (luckily the service centre was in an official Xiaomi store which had a 10s, Otherewise I wouldn't have been able to get it returned.) The lesson learned was to always buy online in the future. Of course there are also lots of private sellers on Taobao for almost any kind of product you can think of and for some products (typically generic unbranded products) the quality will vary greatly.

Aierlan, 08 Jan 2025Aliexpress is only for international buyers. This website i... moreWell every day one learn something new. This i did not known before.
So its really truth a chinese citizen cant use alliexpress to buy anything.
Well according to some sources you can use TaoBao even if you arent chinese citizen and therefore you can have a delivery to any country in the world.
Probbably same could be used with Alliexpress when buying as a chinese citizen for chinese region.
Problem is the TaoBao is much cheaper than Alliexpress, Teemu or Shein and is part of Alibaba network. In other words as a chinese citizen buying via Alliexpress makes no sense if via TaoBao one can get any item much cheaper.
And the main reason taoBao is so cheap is due to a very poor and very poorly paid labor, low cost pf transport and low cost of materials items are made from plus many else simmilar reasons.
In other word taoBao compared to alliexpress is not only cheaper but also worse quality so the customers get their product but it will be so cheap than it will get worn within a very short time.
Since alliexpress is bit more quality is better and more popular among people outside china while TaoBao is exactly opposite. Is quiote popular among chinese and they dont use alliexpress just because poorly paid labor cant afford to pay but more expensive and bit more quality items from alliexpress.

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2025No 7 OS upgrades = no buy. Any flagship phone with short... moreThose who are commenting for using the phone for 7 years is not the factor it's the resale value, I can't even sell my OnePlus 9 Pro after upgrading to pixel, as it has absolutely no market value here in Australia, no one wants to buy it even for 100 dollars, and this phone retailed for $1000. Secondly, OnePlus phone works great for the first year, and their second year updates are just buggy which effects your day to day activities, for example one of the latest OnePlus 12 update killed call functionality, the basic fundamental of a phone. How can you trust OnePlus with buggy software? OnePlus makes exceptional excellent hardware, but the price cutting comes in software.

I had one plus 2. The phone was good, but after exactly one year the battery started draining in 3-4 hours. I had to charge it a few times a day. I actually watched the bat percentage go down.
Then I got myself one plus 8t. The phone was great, no complaints. But after two years of use, colorful lines begun appearing on my screen. As I found out online, it's a common problem with this model. And it costs half phone's price to change the screen.
Thanks, but no thanks. I ain't going back to OnePlus. You broke my heart.
