I agree on the part where they really can't seem to get the creative going again, no games like good ol' Chaos Engine on the Amiga 500 or whatever thingie you were running on, no actually storyline based Xcom based like the first UFO games from Microprose, no idea, just seems like EA is buying up everything or whatever... i went for a PS5 Pro instead just cause PC gaming is pretty dead, but then again, so is the PS5 Pro gaming experience, same kinda games more or less... its just like not even expensive in terms of a 'top end PC' :) cheers

    Raw power gain for 5090 in power is only 30% and that's in the fastest model. However... the price has increased. So with the price increase we actually pay twice as much because the requirements of the games are not standing and, more obviously, not decreasing.
    And in that case the new card should be more efficient and at a similar if not identical price. The raw power model without DLSS and the price increase is again very bad news for gamers.

    Previously, the RTX 4080 sold so badly that this time the price of the new 5080 is $1000, but it is still $300 more than the RTX 3080, it is still over 40% more.

      i5 is still very enough for gaming and the CPU is a place where you can cut the cost on building gaming PC. As the most important part in gaming PC is still GPU

      Get something like i5 that ends with a K that means the chip you can over clock.
      You basically save around 100 euro for not going with the i7 or even more over i9

      i7, i9 and Ryzen 7/9 are for the enthusiasts. People dont have that money to get a gaming PC as the majority cant afford it. I was looking that when i build a new PC now it would take like 900 euro and that be without a graphics card so add more at least 300 euro to get like RTX4060 in it that is the lower price end of the 4060. Never mind to add a good mouse and good mechanical keyboard that each be like 100 euro plus and then the screen for gaming. 24 inch be enough for most even tough 27 inch is really cheap now too where you can get a decent one for 100 euro but with freesync start around 150 euro and it's not even 1440p so for 1440p be around 190 Euro Asus ROG something

          eye watering numbers
          both in spec and price

          now we wait for 5060 before pulling the trigger
          if 5060 is 8gb vram, no questions go for 5070 or 5070ti (tai)
          but
          if 5060 is 10 gb vram at $249 price tag then its a better choice vs the B580

          another thing is that the the jump from 5090 and 5080 is huge
          some of you might already think and / or speculate that a 5080ti (tai) could be possible
          probably around 15k+ to 16k+ cuda cores
          24 gb gddr7 vram
          memory bus of 256 or 384 or 512 bit
          around 450w
          and priced between 5090 and 5080 which is $1499
          though the eagle eye among you may already see that the spec numbers is almost the same as the 4090
          but instead of ada chip its blackwell and instead of gddr6x it gddr7

                Nvidia is setting a bad consumption pattern
                In order to remove AMD from the market, it is increasing the graphics power by increasing the TDP
                575 watts is almost 19 times more than a 30 watt LED lamp
                This is also bad for the environment because power plants have to burn more fuel to produce more electricity

When the game should be giving me 60fps, it's not even as detailed as RDR2, and I get 30 fps on max settings 1440p.

With PC it's harder cause there are like 10 different generations of cpu and gpu to support. Think of all the Intel cpu like i3, i5, i7 and i9 with each have like 3 different versions then take AMD Ryzen 5, 7 and 9
                      Now next is GPU that have Nvidia, AMD and Intel while they support like 10 years old gpu cause there are still a lot of customers with them out there

                      My GTX 970 basically still as good as PS5 have or even better. Just dont have the raytracing feature

                        I know that my PC have the max as can be for my cpu as i have i5 4570 and graphics are GTX 970
                        I can upgrade to GTX 1060 but that wont be much different so no point. 1070 would already be bad cause the cpu would bottleneck the 1070

                            Never mind that it depends where you live to be able to subscribe on these playstation console to even be able to play online cause Sony dont have the support on a lot of countries so you cant even play games online or have any access to online.

                            With Pc you get ultimate edition of the game for the same money then you pay just for that game without any dlc on a console.

                            Never mind the extra controller for a console is already like extra 150
                            For 150 you get a cheapest 27 inch Freesync screen for a PC

                            While console is only for gaming the device and online fee is just not worth it.
                            I rather get a mini PC that is still able to play most of the games on low settings
                            It's not like you get good quality gaming on the console with their upscaling cause the hardware is so weak. Games are also hold back in advancing cause they need to run on these console for like 5 plus years for one console generation

                                  All these new super powerful cards with insane amounts of vram and specced to the brim, and yet new games are unoptimised as hell, or not even remotely fun, creativity in video games is almost dead, having this card is ultimately like having a Ferrari garbage truck.
