But had a red magic in the pas... moreSo far per reviews, ROG Phone 9Pro's camera and RedMagic 10Pro's upgraded rear camera's aren't that too far in terms of quality. Even the UDC selfie of the RM10Pro has been greatly improved now captures decent selfies (you may check Technik review on YT).

So, if camera's your preference, I think you're better off with other Android flagships that are on the same price category instead of buying ROG PHone 9 series with average cameras but is overpriced.

    I know I'm late to comment, but I found the ROG phone 9 on sale at Walmart.com for $719 for 12gb ram and 256gb storage. I don't see that design anywhere else for that price... I'm curious why Walmart has it for so low. It says it's sold from ASUS via Walmart. Anyone else see this? Or do I need new glasses 🙄

        Yeah, try checking most ROG Phone groups in most social media pages, and their Asus community and you'll find most users are recommending RedMagic instead as ROG Phones are full of hardware issues. As a former ROG Phone user before I switched to RedMagic, I can vouch that all of those are real.

        1. Poor/Weak quality motherboard issue- many users not just me had a dead motherboard with our ROG phones after just a few months of heavy/casual gaming due to reliance on passive cooling only.

        2. Paint chips on the aluminum frame, easily gets scratched/dents.
        3. Air triggers sensitivity issues - happens on every updates Asus releases. Sometimes, the OLED screen sensitivity is affected too.
        4. Greenline issues on its Samsung panel OLED screen.

          Redmagic are very very good. But had a red magic in the past. Currently using the Redmi K50G. Not a bad gaming phone. But either February or March will buy the RoG Phone 9 Pro. 24 GB 1TB version. Of course with the cooler onboard. Although gaming phones put the camera at the bottom of the list. I do need a decent camera. A bit like the Redmi K50G. So hopefully the RoG Phone 9 Pro will do me well for gaming.

When I said recycled, look exactly on the specs of ROG Phone 8 and 9 series and what's freaking changed? Oh its new LED gimmick on the back, its gimmicky 185Hz that not even a single game support, and its 300mAh larger still SMALL battery.

            Does all of that is enough to charge $1499 on a phone?? Well, back to you. I'd rather buy a Gaming laptop or an iPhone 16 ProMax, or a Samsung Galaxy S25Ultra with that price.

            RedMagic is really full of new innovations packed into an affordable package:
            - Your ROG phone don't have an under display camera system for immersive gaming
            - Your ROG phone still uses the old Lithium ion tech for their SMALL batteries, RedMagic uses the new Silicon Carbon tech.
            - Your ROG Phone doesn't even have an active cooling, liquid metal which is only found on highend gaming laptops and an aviation aerospace grade aluminum.
            - Your ROG Phone has a freaking camera bump, what does it want to be a flagship phone or a gaming phone? LOL
            - Your ROG Phone doesn't even have a Game Console mode with native support for gamepads and KB/Mouse like RedMagic does in a small package.
            - RedMagic might just be a 7 year-old company but, they've already exceeded what a ROG phone can do and HAVE FOR AN AFFORDABLE PACKAGE!!

              Will not be available in India it seems.

              Not visible on any Indian e-commerce website. The Asus website is as usual stuck on the launch prices of ROG 8 series. Who will pay 94000 INR for ROG 8 now, with a now-dated chipset?

                              You forget the fact that people buy Flagship from Samsung or iPhone (a.k.a Samsung/Apple user) were once dissapointed with their old chinese phone.

                              I was actually a ex-Xiaomi user, and bought my first Samsung product in 2020, because two of my old xiaomi suffer bloated battery after 1.5 years of usage. Very satisfied with Samsung products since then, perfect Amoled screen no screenburn no greenline no overheating for the last 4 years. I am also an Apple user but only have Macbook Pro.

The only reason the redmagic doesn't have an IP rating is cus of its fan. If you're a real mobile gamer you're going to be on the go you for sure aren't going to carry a fan everywhere, which is why the redmagic makes more sense for MOBILE gamers. The IQOO and oneplus have better IP ratings than the Asus lol

                                Anyways, which exact tweaks are you talking about, because OP and IQOO both have upscaling and frame interpolation, and how are the triggers faster?
