dt031sin, 10 Jan 2025OMG, not sure if you're trolling or not but the fanboy... moreWith the comment you quoted, I was being sarcastic. And I would write the same comment if someone wrote this nonsense about Samsung, Apple and the others. I'm just tired of reading stupid statements like the above. 1+ is clearly trying to enter one of the largest markets in terms of population - India. They give a 6-month warranty "No matter what", which is good for every single user in this market and someone comes and writes that 1+ knows that their devices will break and that's why. I've never read anything more stupid. And the companies that give a lifetime warranty on their products (no, this doesn't mean that you'll have a warranty as long as you live), what are they then? The companies that offer you to pay extra for an additional year of warranty, are they making products that break so that they can charge you for everything? Complete nonsense! Instead of being happy that we get more without paying, we only know how to complain.

dt031sin, 10 Jan 2025Yes, you're to blame if you buy them again and again, ... moreYou probably believe that from 1+ pick up the phone, call Samsung and say: Hey, send us 1000 displays. Of course they will use Samsung displays for years. After all, it's about planned production for years to come, supply contracts, penalties under the contracts. Yes, displays for phones from all display manufacturers will fail. But Samsung's ones are apparently more likely to do so. Why, I don't know. And I am a person who, when it comes to TVs and SSDs, always, absolutely always, buys/prefers Samsung. I'll tell you another "secret". In mass production, products are not produced one by one. They are produced in batches. And some batches, for various reasons, are of lower quality than others. The company I work for is an importer of several brands of IP phones that are used in hotels and public buildings. One of the brands had used processors that had a manufacturing defect, but this was only discovered about a year later, when the phones started to fail one by one. This does not mean that this company makes crappy phones. All the other phones that they have produced with the same brand of processor, but with good quality, have been simply perfect during this time and extremely few units have shown any problems. This is most likely the case here. 1+ may have some fault, it is many times smaller than that of the display manufacturer.

sdkk, 09 Jan 2025And why should Samsung release a display that shouldn'... moreYes, you're to blame if you buy them again and again, generation after generation. If it's a one off issue for one generation then complete blame is on Samsung displays. But green line issue has been with OP phones for multiple phone generations now. That is the reason they are going with BOE display panels for OP 13, whether these will have any kind of issues or not is still to be seen.
Also OP 12 had BOE panels but still had green line issues, not sure how much of a OP fanboy you're that you cannot see OP is in part need to be blamed for these issues.

If they are giving 180 days of replacement that means they know that their devices are not well made their 13 series can get problem early then ever and it's been said that 13 is been called unlucky no in china so maybe OnePlus is trying to sell these devices just for profit because as soon as 6 months completes problem starts in 13 series may be

dt031sin, 09 Jan 2025These brands have known these issues are present on samsung... moreAnd why should Samsung release a display that shouldn't be used? Most likely because 1+ used the most defective displays... Since you think 1+ doesn't assemble phones well, explain to me why they don't have dramas like this with displays from other manufacturers? By your logic, if I buy tires for my car that I'm told will last 300,000 km without a problem and they go bad after only 3,000, I'm to blame because I drive the car, not the tire manufacturer.

sdkk, 09 Jan 2025And who should I blame, since the green lines appear only o... moreThese brands have known these issues are present on samsung displays for years they are free to choose LG poled panels or boe amoleds but they do not either due to missing "maximum" numbers they like to market or due to pricing issues. This blame is onto them for choosing samsung panels more so than samsung themselves.
And how would you justify Oneplus phones having most green line issues while other brands see less or very low issues using same samsung panels.

So Samsung is producing and distributing a new display on the market, but I have to blame everyone else for using it, not Samsung for releasing a poor-quality product. Yeah, okay....

sdkk, 08 Jan 2025Yes, and reason is: Samsung don't have good quality co... moreYou can't directly blame samsung displays, there are more processes involved in tuning and attaching the panel to the phone once panels are shipped from Samsung to the phone manufacturer.
Also most phone manufacturers use Samsung made display panels.
Why do you think Apple and Samsung go with the conservative approach on their displays and do not just stick the newest and brightest panel on their phones, the more extreme the panel properties the lesser is the yield and more are the post production issues.
These chinese brands go for higher numbers in every hardware component and lack proper QA, hence such issues.

I would steer clear of such a phone! How can anybody have peace of mind when the brand's marketing team is compelled to focus on their inability to provide a defect-free phone? I have even had a OnePlus salesperson tell me not to buy a their phone because of the ongoing screen issues.

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2025Another example of OnePlus fans trying hard to cover greenl... moreI've had 4 Xiaomis, 2 Samsungs, 2 iPhones and only one OnePlus. But since you say I'm a OnePlus fan... I'm not trying to cover anything. All phone brands have this problem if they used Samsung displays. OnePlus doesn't use them anymore. OnePlus released a statement that they will replace displays with a green line even on phones that are out of warranty. Samsung when?
