Nintendo Switch 2 renders show a familiar but upscaled design with an 8.4" display

That's up from 7.0" on the Switch OLED, which itself was a bump up from the 6.2" on the original Switch.

          I’m really excited for the Switch 2 to get a faster processor. It’s amazing how efficient the Switch is, and Nintendo did a great job with optimization. The fact that a compact handheld with a 10 year old chip originally made for Android TV boxes can run Splatoon 3 online with beautiful shading at 60fps is incredible, and I can’t wait to see what Nintendo can do with more modern hardware. But the one upgrade I really want is a better WiFi chip because the Switch’s WiFi is pretty bad, and I get way more communication errors than should be acceptable in 2025

And there’s no way it’s better than a dedicated console operating system that’s actually optimized for that screen size and input type. Also the battery life is gonna be horrible unless you have a huge battery, which isn’t great for a portable console that needs to be light. If you really want an handheld that lets you do more things with software, then just get an Android tablet

                        T239 uses an 8 A78C cores in a single cluster and is from late 2022

                        31 mm thickness is where there is joycon bumpers. The tablet is still 14mm thick.

                          That thickness obviously takes the back bumpers into account. 31.4mm makes perfect sense with them.

As for Steam, I would be more than happy to use more than just it to buy games if alternative app stores were less scummy than it and had a Linux experience that was just as good. Steam is by far the least evil of them, even if they have done some dodgy things in the past like try to pretend that implementing refunds on Steam would be too difficult in order to not take a hit on their profits.

Their main goal is definitely not to make as much money as possible by squeezing their customers and locking them in on their API (which DirectX definitely is and it‘s not proprietary and exclusive to Windows at all) or their game store (which Steam definitely is and it‘s easily possible to move your entire library to any other game store). again /s
