Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim runs Geekbench, disappoints

09 January 2025
Hopefully it's just a fluke due to the prototype nature of the device being tested.

"That said, on this occasion we can't help but wonder whether the S25 Slim's thinness may be negatively impacting its heat dissipation capability to such a big extent."

More than 10 years ago the same trend existed, thin phones.

Heat and battery endurance were the issues back then, battery is solved but throttling will not because chips get hotter than back then.

And honeslty... most phones are between 7,5 and 9 mm and, and that is thin enough to make sense without having to sacrifice even more.

If anything, if they really want a thin phone then just use weaker SoC that doesn't need so much cooling to begin with.

Of course they had to underpower the other CPU cores. How else do you expect them to keep thermals under control?

It's a shame this will have better 3x zoom than S25U. Shame on you, Samsung!

Chinese brands already make thin devices and have big batteries
Here come Apple and Samsung and they will launch thin devices but with tiny batteries...
      I don't doubt if a battery smaller than 4000mah...

Maybe Samsung lowered the speed of the chipset to avoid overheating.

                >Until you go ahead and put a case on it, that is.

With the same thickness case, a thinner phone is still thinner. You all make fun of it now, in 2 years it will be the new normal and then you will start complaining about thicker phones not giving that thin feel the thin ones give. And if they then went back to thicker phones you‘d again complain about thin phones giving less battery. It‘s always what is currently trending in the market that you worship.

Title had me thinking they shoved back the Exynos 2500 since the recent report said they’d fixed the yield issue.

                  I’ll take this gladly lol.

Idk why but reading the title made me chuckle.
